✅ Temporary marriage, or mut'ah, is one of Allah’s mercies for Muslims, through which unlawful acts and zina are eradicated from society, and eligible individuals preserve their chastity under its rulings.
However, it should be noted that mut'ah is discouraged or disliked in the following cases:
In situations requiring taqiyya (dissimulation).
Insisting or persisting in mut'ah to the extent that a person becomes preoccupied with it over their permanent spouse, causing their spouse to disavow and curse those who command mut'ah, including the Imams and Shia scholars, and even leading to cursing the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them).
Marriage with virgin girls, which brings shame and stigma to their families.
Situations that cause disgrace to the Imams, religion, hadith, or the people of hadith.
✅ Unfortunately, some, under the pretext of mut'ah being permissible, have engaged in it in a way that has caused their permanent spouses to disavow and curse, leading to disbelief and creating grounds for discord, divorce, and separation in their lives. Our duty is merely to uphold the tradition and use it to preserve chastity, and alongside the encouragements for mut'ah, it is appropriate to pay attention to these instructions of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them).
