1 أَبِي بصير عن أَبِي عَبْداللَّهِ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ لِجَعْفَرٍ يَا جَعْفَرُ أَ لَا أَمْنَحُكَ أَ لَا أُعْطِيكَ أَ لَا أَحْبُوكَ فَقَالَ لَهُ جَعْفَرٌ بَلَى يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ- قَالَ فَظَنَّ النَّاسُ أَنَّهُ يُعْطِيهِ ذَهَباً أَوْ فِضَّةً فَتَشَرَّفَ النَّاسُ لِذَلِكَ فَقَالَ لَهُ إِنِّي أُعْطِيكَ شَيْئاً إِنْ أَنْتَ صَنَعْتَهُ فِي كُلِّ يَوْمٍ كَانَ خَيْراً لَكَ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا وَ مَا فِيهَا وَ إِنْ صَنَعْتَهُ بَيْنَ يَوْمَيْنِ غَفَرَ اللَّهُ لَكَ مَا بَيْنَهُمَا أَوْ كُلَّ جُمْعَةٍ أَوْ كُلَّ شَهْرٍ أَوْ كُلَّ سَنَةٍ غَفَرَ لَكَ مَا بَيْنَهُمَا تُصَلِّي أَرْبَعَ رَكَعَاتٍ تَبْتَدِئُ فَتَقْرَأُ وَ تَقُولُ إِذَا فَرَغْتَ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ وَ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَ اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ تَقُولُ ذَلِكَ خَمْسَ عَشْرَةَ مَرَّةً بَعْدَ الْقِرَاءَةِ فَإِذَا رَكَعْتَ قُلْتَهُ عَشْرَ مَرَّاتٍ فَإِذَا رَفَعْتَ رَأْسَكَ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ قُلْتَهُ عَشْرَ مَرَّاتٍ فَإِذَا سَجَدْتَ قُلْتَهُ عَشْرَ مَرَّاتٍ فَإِذَا رَفَعْتَ رَأْسَكَ مِنَ السُّجُودِ فَقُلْ بَيْنَ السَّجْدَتَيْنِ عَشْرَ مَرَّاتٍ فَإِذَا سَجَدْتَ الثَّانِيَةَ فَقُلْ عَشْرَ مَرَّاتٍ فَإِذَا رَفَعْتَ رَأْسَكَ مِنَ السَّجْدَةِ الثَّانِيَةِ قُلْتَ عَشْرَ مَرَّاتٍ وَ أَنْتَ قَاعِدٌ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَقُومَ فَذَلِكَ خَمْسٌ وَ سَبْعُونَ تَسْبِيحَةً فِي كُلِّ رَكْعَةٍ ثَلَاثُ مِائَةِ تَسْبِيحَةٍ فِي أَرْبَعِ رَكَعَاتٍ أَلْفٌ وَ مِائَتَا تَسْبِيحَةٍ وَ تَهْلِيلَةٍ وَ تَكْبِيرَةٍ وَ تَحْمِيدَةٍ إِنْ شِئْتَ صَلَّيْتَهَا بِالنَّهَارِ وَ إِنْ شِئْتَ صَلَّيْتَهَا بِاللَّيْل

Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his family) said to Ja'far ibn Abi Talib: 'O Ja'far! Shall I not give you a gift? Shall I not give you a grant? Shall I not bestow upon you a favor?'
Ja'far said: 'Yes, O Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his family)!'
So the people thought that he would give him gold or silver, and they craned their necks for it!
The Prophet said: 'I will grant you something which, if you do it every day, is better for you than the world and what is in it, and if you do it between two days or every week or every month or every year, Allah the Exalted will forgive you for what is in between.'
You begin and recite 'Hamd' (Surah Al-Fatiha) and a surah, and when you are finished with the recitation, you say 15 times:
سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ وَ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَ اللَّهُ أَكْبَر
And in the bowing, you say it 10 times, and when you raise your head from the bowing, you say it 10 times, and in the prostration, you say it 10 times, and when you raise your head from the prostration, between the two prostrations, you also say it 10 times, and when you go into the second prostration, you say it 10 times, and when you raise your head from the second prostration, while sitting, before you stand up, you say it 10 times, which makes 75 glorifications in each rak'ah, and 300 glorifications in the four rak'ahs, and in total, it becomes 1200 glorifications, 'tahlil' (saying 'la ilaha illallah'), 'tahmid' (saying 'alhamdulillah'), and 'takbir' (saying 'Allahu akbar'). If you wish, you can pray it at night, and if you wish, you can pray it during the day!
2 إِسْحَاقَ بْن عَمَّارٍ قال: قُلْتُ لِأَبِي عَبْداللَّه مَنْ صَلَّى صَلَاةَ جَعْفَرٍ كَتَبَ اللَّهُ لَهُ مِنَ الْأَجْرِ مِثْلَ مَا قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ لِجَعْفَرٍ قَالَ إِي وَ اللَّهِ

Ishaq ibn Ammar said: I said to Imam Sadiq: Does Allah write for the one who prays the 'Ja'far prayer' the reward that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his family) mentioned for Ja'far? He said: Yes, by Allah!

5 عن أَبي الْحسن موسى قال: تَقْرَأُ فِي الْأُولَى إِذَا زُلْزِلَتْ وَ فِي الثَّانِيَةِ وَ الْعَادِيَاتِ وَ الثَّالِثَةِ إِذَا جَاءَ نَصْرُ اللَّه وَ الرَّابِعَةِ قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ قُلْتُ فَمَا ثَوَابُهَا قَالَ لَوْ كَانَ عَلَيْهِ مِثْلُ رَمْلِ عَالِجٍ ذُنُوباً غَفَرَ اللَّهُ لَهُ

Imam Kazim (peace be upon him) said: In the 'Ja'far prayer', in the first rak'ah (after 'Hamd'), recite 'Surah Al-Zilzal', and in the second rak'ah, 'Surah Al-Adiyat', and in the third rak'ah, 'Surah Al-Nasr', and in the fourth rak'ah, 'Surah Al-Tawhid'. I said: What is its reward? He said: If he has sins as numerous as piles of sand, Allah will forgive them for him!
