✅ Answer:
Please pay attention to the following narrations:
📚 Qurb al-Isnad, p. 175
Muhammad ibn Fudayl said: 'I asked Imam Kadhim (peace be upon him): 'I am reciting the Quran, then I feel the urge to urinate, so I get up and urinate and purify myself and wash my hands and return to the Quran and start reciting from it. (Is this correct)?''
He said: 'No, until you perform the ablution for prayer!'
📚 Al-Khisal, p. 627
The Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him) said in the hadith of four hundred: 'When a servant is not in a state of purity (i.e., ablution), he should not recite the Quran until he performs purification (i.e., ablution)!'
✅ In the two above narrations, reciting the Quran without ablution is prohibited, and it is appropriate to act upon them.
However, with attention to other numerous narrations, permission and a concession to recite the Quran without ablution have also been transmitted. Pay attention to two of them:
📚 Al-Kafi, Vol. 3, p. 50
Abu Basir said: 'I asked Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) about a person who recites from the Quran while he does not have ablution.' The Imam said: 'There is no objection, but he should not touch the writings!'
📚 Al-Tahdhib, Vol. 1, p. 126
A person said: 'Ismail, the son of Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him), was with him. The Imam said to him: 'O my son! Recite from the Quran!' He said: 'I do not have ablution!'
The Imam said: 'Do not touch the writings, and only touch the page and recite from it!'
✅ It is seen that reciting the Quran without having ablution is also permitted, and one must only be careful that their body without ablution does not touch the writings.
✅ In addition to the permission to recite the Quran for a person without ablution, permission to recite the Quran has also been transmitted for a person in a state of major ritual impurity and for a menstruating woman. Regarding the permission for a person in a state of major ritual impurity and a menstruating woman to recite the Quran and its rulings, you must also refer to the following link:
✅ Let us also benefit from the following narration:
📚 'Uddat al-Da'i, p. 269
Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: 'For the reciter of the Quran, for every letter that he recites in a standing prayer, there are a hundred good deeds. And if it is a sitting prayer, there are fifty good deeds. And if it is outside of prayer, with purity (i.e., with ablution), for every letter, there are twenty-five good deeds. And if he recites outside of prayer, without ablution, for every letter, there are ten good deeds!'
'Be aware that I do not say: for 'Alif-Lam-Mim,' these good deeds are given, but for him, for Alif, there are ten good deeds, for Lam, ten good deeds, for Mim, ten good deeds, and for Ra, ten good deeds!'
