✅ Please pay attention to the following narrations:

📚 Al-Kafi Vol. 2, p. 673

Abd al-Malik said: I asked Imam al-Kazim (peace be upon him) about papers that are collected and have some mention of Allah on them, should they be burned with fire? The Imam said: No, first they are washed with water before that.

📚 Al-Kafi Vol. 2, p. 674

Abdullah ibn Sinan said: I heard Imam al-Sadiq (peace be upon him) say: Do not burn the papers, but first erase (the writings) and then burn them.

📚 Al-Kafi Vol. 2, p. 674

Imam al-Sadiq (peace be upon him) was asked about a name of Allah that is erased with saliva; the Imam said: Erase it with the purest thing you can find.

📚 Al-Kafi Vol. 2, p. 674

Imam al-Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his family) said: Erase the Book of Allah (i.e., the Quran) and His remembrance with the purest thing you can find, and he forbade burning the Book of Allah and forbade erasing it with pens.

📚 Al-Faqih Vol. 4, p. 5

In the 'Manahi' (prohibitions) hadith, the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his family) forbade that anything from the Quran be erased with saliva or be written with saliva.

📚 The book of 'Asim ibn Humayd al-Hanat p. 36

Abd al-Malik, the son of Abadharr, said: On the day that 'Uthman (may Allah curse him) tore up the Qurans, the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him) came across me. He said to me: Call your father to me. So my father quickly came to him.

Then the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him) said: O Abadharr, a great matter has come upon Islam today: the Quran has been torn up and iron has been placed in it! And it is a right upon Allah to give power to iron over the one who tears up the Quran with iron.

✅ We know that it was not long before the truthfulness of the Commander of the Faithful's (peace be upon him) saying became clear, and 'Uthman was killed with a sword!

✅ It is observed that paper containing the remembrance of Allah and the Quran should not be burned, and its writing should not be erased with a pen or saliva, and the Quran should not be torn with iron. Rather, if necessary, we are obligated to erase its writings with the purest thing we have in our possession, and after that, if we wish, we can burn the paper, and so on.

✅ If there is fear and apprehension about a writing and it is not possible to wash it with water or another pure thing, we act upon the following narration:

7️⃣ 'Abd Allah ibn al-Hasan from his grandfather Ali ibn Ja'far from his brother Musa ibn Ja'far (peace be upon them both) said: I asked him about paper on which there is writing with the remembrance of Allah. Is it permissible to burn it with fire? He said: If you fear something about it, then burn it, there is no problem.

📚 Qurb al-Isnad p. 122

Ali ibn Ja'far said: I asked Imam al-Kazim (peace be upon him) about paper on which there is writing of the remembrance of Allah, is it proper to burn it with fire? He said: If you are afraid about something of its contents, then burn it, there is no problem.

✅ The above narration is for a situation of fear, where burning the paper containing the remembrance of Allah is permitted. In other situations, the previous narrations are followed.

Washing the names of Allah and His remembrance with water and the prohibition of burning them
