Answer

✅ Please pay attention to the following narrations:

📚 Al-Faqih, Vol. 1, p. 44

Zurarah asked Imam Baqir (peace be upon him): 'Inform me about the limits of the face that Allah has mentioned, which should be washed in Wudu.' The Imam said: 'The face that Allah has mentioned and commanded to be washed, which it is not appropriate for anyone to decrease or add to, and he who adds to it earns no reward, and he who decreases from it has sinned, is the area that the middle finger and the thumb encircle, from the hairline to the chin. And whatever these two fingers encompass and flow over in a circular manner is part of the face, and what is outside of it is not.'

📚 Al-Faqih, Vol. 1, p. 103

Zurarah said: 'I said to Imam Baqir (peace be upon him): 'Will you not inform me how you knew that wiping should be on a part of the head and a part of the two feet?' The Imam smiled and said: 'O Zurarah, the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his family) said this, and the Quran was revealed from Allah for it.'

'For Allah Almighty and Glorious says: 'So wash your faces,' and from this verse, we knew that the entire face is appropriate to be washed. Then He says: 'and your hands up to the elbows,' so He connected the hands to the elbows, and we knew that the hands also must be washed (completely) up to the elbows.'

📚 Al-Tahdhib, Vol. 1, p. 425

Ammar said: 'I asked Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) about a person whose nail is broken, is it permissible to put sap on it?' The Imam said: 'No, and he should not put anything on it except something that he is able to remove at the time of Wudu, and he should not put anything on it that prevents water from reaching his body.'

📚 Al-Kafi, Vol. 3, p. 44

Ali ibn Ja'far said: 'I asked Imam Kadhim (peace be upon him) about a woman who has a bracelet or an armlet on her hand and she does not know whether the water flows beneath it or not. What should she do when she performs Ghusl and Wudu?' The Imam said: 'She should move it so that the water flows beneath it, or she should take it off.'

'And I asked about a tight ring, and she does not know whether water flows beneath it or not, what should she do?' He said: 'If she knows that water will not enter beneath it, she must take it off during Wudu.'

✅ The verses and narrations on Wudu explicitly and generally state that it is necessary to wash the entire face and hands during Wudu, and anything that prevents water from reaching the body, such as decorative nail polish, must be removed. If there is a barrier on the hands or face, the Wudu is considered problematic.
