Answer

✅Answer: Consider the following narrations:

📚 Al-Tahdhib, vol.1, p.427

📚 Al-Kafi, vol.3, p.137

Imam Baqir (peace be upon him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his family) said: 'O people, never delay the burial of a deceased person until morning if he died at night, and never delay until night if he died during the day! Do not wait for sunrise or sunset for your deceased. Hasten to take them to their resting place, may Allah have mercy on you!'

People said: 'And may Allah have mercy on you as well, O Messenger of Allah!'

📚 Al-Tahdhib, vol.3, p.320

Jabir asked Imam Baqir (peace be upon him): If the funeral prayer coincides with the time of a fard prayer, which should we prioritize? The Imam said: 'Hasten to bury the deceased unless you fear missing the fard prayer.' Do not wait for sunrise or sunset for the funeral prayer.

📚 Al-Kafi, vol.3, p.138

Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his family) said: 'When a person dies early in the day, do not delay their burial until midday nap; bury them in their grave promptly.'

📚 Al-Tahdhib, vol.1, p.433

Imam Baqir (peace be upon him) said: 'When a person dies, begin preparing them immediately and hasten the process.'

📚 Al-Faqih, vol.1, p.140

Sheikh Saduq says: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his family) said: 'Honoring the deceased is by hastening their preparation and burial.'

✅As these narrations indicate, it is emphasized to hasten the preparation and burial of the deceased. Delaying burial for relatives arriving from other cities or countries, or for a specific day such as Friday, is not a valid excuse. Burial should not wait until night or morning; after death, one must immediately engage in washing, shrouding, praying over, and burying the deceased.

✅Exceptions are noted in the following narration:

📚 Al-Kafi, vol.3, p.210

Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: There are five cases where burial may be delayed until changes occur in the body confirming death: a drowned person, a lightning-struck person, a person who died with abdominal issues (bloated), a person buried under a collapsed building, and a person affected by smoke.

✅Such cases may be delayed up to three days unless the body changes beforehand confirming death. According to 📚 Al-Kafi, vol.3, p.209, sometimes it may appear that the person is dead while they are not yet dead.
