Answer

✅ Answer: Pay attention to the following narrations:

📚 Al-Faqih, Vol. 1, p. 339

Imam Sadiq, peace be upon him, said: If a person is among those who make a mistake in a single thing in every three (consecutive prayers), then he is among those whose mistakes have become frequent.

📚 Mustadrakat al-Sara'ir, p. 110, H. 66

Imam Sadiq, peace be upon him, said: There is no mistake for a person who admits to himself that he makes mistakes.

✅ The above two definitions have been given for a person whose doubt and error in prayer are frequent, both of which are somewhat general.

According to the first hadith, which has been interpreted in different ways, if a person is among those who doubt the same thing in three consecutive prayers (or three of the daily prayers), and as a result, according to the second narration, he admits to himself that he makes many mistakes and doubts, he is considered to be someone who is prone to doubt.

Of course, other interpretations of this narration have also been mentioned, but we have tried to provide the most suitable meaning.

✅ The important point is that a person is obligated to act according to the rules of doubt in his prayers, which have been detailed in narrative books, unless he reaches the state of being prone to doubt, in which case he has a specific duty. Therefore, when a person becomes certain that he has become prone to doubt, he performs the specific duty of a person prone to doubt, and in the normal state, he performs the detailed duties of the rules of doubt.

✅ To understand the duty of a person prone to doubt, pay attention to the following narrations:

📚 Al-Tahdhib, Vol. 2, p. 153

Imam Sadiq, peace be upon him, regarding a person whose delusion in prayer becomes frequent and as a result, he doubts in bowing and does not know whether he has bowed or not, and he doubts in prostration and does not know whether he has prostrated or not, said: Do not prostrate and do not bow and continue your prayer until you become completely certain.

📚 Al-Faqih, Vol. 1, p. 339

Imam Reza, peace be upon him, said: If your mistakes in prayer become frequent (you become prone to doubt), continue your prayer and do not repeat your prayer.

📚 Al-Kafi, Vol. 3, p. 359

Imam Baqir, peace be upon him, said: If your mistakes become frequent, continue your prayer, for it is about to leave you; indeed, this is from Satan!

✅ It is clear from the above narrations and similar ones that if a person reaches the state of being prone to doubt, he is obligated to continue his prayer and disregard his doubt. This means that whatever he doubts whether he has performed or not, he should assume that he has performed it. And from the fourth narration and similar ones, which show that if mistakes become frequent, he should not repeat the prayer, it is clear that if a person who is prone to doubt faces a doubt whose certain occurrence would require repetition, he should not repeat the prayer and should assume that it has not happened. For example, a person who doubts in bowing whether he has performed two bowings or one, the requirement of not repeating the prayer specified in the fourth hadith and others is that he should assume that he has performed one bowing, and therefore he continues the prayer and does not repeat it and so on....

✅ The rules of doubt and the rules of a person prone to doubt are valid as long as the state of doubt remains, and when it turns into certainty, the duty changes. For example, if a person doubts in bowing and performs his duty as a person who makes a mistake or a person who is prone to doubt, but later becomes certain that he has not bowed or has performed two bowings, according to the third narration and others, he acts according to the relevant narrations regarding repeating the prayer and so on.
