Answer

✅Answer: The word 'souvenir' is a Turkish word that refers to a gift or present that a traveler brings for his family and acquaintances. In this regard, pay attention to the following narrations:

📚 Tafsir Al-'Ayyashi, vol. 1, p. 277

Ibn Sinan said: Imam Sadiq, peace be upon him, said: Whenever one of you travels and returns from his journey, he should bring whatever is possible for him for his family upon his return, even if it is a stone; because Abraham, peace be upon him, used to go to his people in times of need. Once, he was in great need and went to his people, but he saw that they were also in misery and famine. So he returned empty-handed, and when he was near his house, he dismounted from his donkey and filled his saddlebag with sand to bring peace to Sarah's soul [so that he could comfort his wife Sarah with this act]. When he entered his house, he put the saddlebag down from the donkey and began to pray, and Sarah came and opened the saddlebag and saw that it was full of flour; she kneaded some of it and baked bread. Then she said to Abraham, peace be upon him: Finish your prayer and eat. Abraham, peace be upon him, asked her: Where did you get this food from? Sarah replied: I made it from the same flour that was in the saddlebag. Abraham, peace be upon him, raised his head to the sky and said: I bear witness that you are my intimate friend.

✅It is clear from the above narration that bringing a gift from a trip for one's family is commanded by the Ahl al-Bayt, peace be upon them. Today, this gift is called a souvenir. This praiseworthy matter is specifically recommended and confirmed for the pilgrim, which you can see in the two following narrations:

📚 Al-Kafi, vol. 4, p. 280

Imam Sadiq, peace be upon him, said: The gift of Hajj is from Hajj.

📚 Al-Kafi, vol. 4, p. 280

Imam Sadiq, peace be upon him, said: The gift (of Hajj) is from the expenses of Hajj.

✅ Inshallah, in all matters, we will learn the sayings and words of the Ahl al-Bayt, peace be upon them, and make them the basis of our actions.
