Question 399: If someone performs 'aqiqa' for themselves, can they eat from it or not?

Answer
✅Answer: First, regarding those who cannot eat from the 'aqiqa,' please pay attention to the following narrations:
📚Al-Kafi, Vol. 6, p. 29
Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said about a newborn: 'On the seventh day, he is named, 'aqiqa' is performed for him, his head is shaved, and silver equal to the weight of his hair is given in charity, and one leg along with the thigh is sent to the midwife, and it is eaten and given in charity.'
📚Al-Kafi, Vol. 6, p. 32
Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: 'He (i.e., the father of the newborn) and none of his family should eat from the 'aqiqa.' And he said: 'One-third of the 'aqiqa' is for the midwife, and if the midwife is the man's mother or from his family, there is nothing for her from the 'aqiqa,' and the 'aqiqa' is divided piece by piece, and he cooks it and distributes it, and he does not give it except to the people of the Wilayah.' And he said: 'Everyone eats from the 'aqiqa' except the mother.'
📚Al-Kafi, Vol. 6, p. 32
Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said about the 'aqiqa': 'Do not feed anything from it to the mother.'
📚Al-Kafi, Vol. 6, p. 32
Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: 'The woman should not eat from the 'aqiqa' of her child, and there is no problem in giving some of its meat to a needy neighbor.'
📚Al-Kafi, Vol. 6, p. 28
Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: 'When a son or a daughter is born to you, on the seventh day, perform 'aqiqa' for him with a sheep or a camel, and eat from it and feed others.'
✅It is clear from the above narrations that those who are forbidden from eating from the 'aqiqa' are the newborn's father and mother, the father's mother, and all of the man's family and dependents. Of course, except for the newborn's mother, the other people have received a dispensation to use the 'aqiqa,' but in the most complete state, the parents and all of the man's dependents and also the man's mother do not use the 'aqiqa.'
However, regarding the case where a person performs 'aqiqa' for himself because his father did not perform 'aqiqa' for him, no specific narration has been received regarding the permissibility or impermissibility of his eating from the 'aqiqa.' Therefore, in this case, we use the rule of caution that the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) have instilled in their Shi'a, and the person himself does not eat from his 'aqiqa' until, God willing, we soon learn its precise ruling with the advent of our Master, Imam Mahdi (peace be upon him), for Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said about two muhrim (in a state of ihram) men who had hunted and did not know whether both of them had to pay the atonement or only one of them:
📚Al-Kafi, Vol. 4, p. 391
Meaning: 'When you encounter things like this and do not know, then be cautious until you ask about it and gain knowledge.'
So, to hasten his advent, let us say frequently and continuously:
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
Question 400: Is it disliked to clip nails at night?
✅Answer: In Shi'a hadith collections, no prohibition has been received for clipping nails at night, but certain times have been recommended for clipping nails, some of which you should pay attention to:

📚Al-Faqih, Vol. 1, p. 127
Abdullah ibn Abi Ya'fur said to Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him): 'It is said that nothing like the 'ta'qib' (supplication after prayer) between the rising of the dawn and the rising of the sun (bayn al-tuloo'ayn) brings down provision!' He said: 'Yes, but I will tell you something better than that, which is shortening the mustache and clipping the nails on Friday!'

Acts and customs of Friday
✅The blessings of following the hadiths of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) are unimaginable. We should not, by being heedless, deprive ourselves of the good and blessings of acting upon the instructions of the family of revelation.
✅The intensification of tribulations and the intensification of religious and worldly hardships for the lovers of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) in all parts of the world require us to double our supplication for the hastening of the advent and never be negligent in this matter:
