Question 32: Is it necessary to touch all parts of the body during the ghusl (ritual bath) for janabah (impurity)?

✅ Answer: Consider the following narration:

📚 Al-Kafi, Vol. 3, p. 43

Zurarah said: I asked Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) how a person in a state of janabah should perform ghusl. The Imam replied: If there is no impurity on his hand, he dips it into the water and first uses three handfuls of water to clean his private parts. Then he pours three handfuls of water over his head, followed by two handfuls on his right shoulder and two handfuls on his left shoulder. After these actions, any part of the body that water touches is sufficient to purify it.

Explanation: It is clear that the areas where water is poured do not require touching, and the areas that remain dry should be touched with the hand.

Question 33: Is it problematic for a man to wear a platinum ring and pray while wearing it?

✅ Answer: It is known from the narrations that wearing a gold ring and praying with it is prohibited for men, including the following:

📚 Tahdhib, Vol. 2, p. 227

Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said in a narration: Allah has made gold a decoration for women in this world and has made wearing it and praying with it forbidden for men.

Today, platinum is referred to as white gold, but these two metals are different, and the rulings for gold should not be applied to platinum. However, based on the following narration, generally, wearing a non-silver ring is prohibited:

📚 Al-Kafi, Vol. 6, p. 468

Amir al-Mu’minin (peace be upon him) said: Do not wear rings other than silver because the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: The hand that wears an iron ring is not pure.

Based on the two mentioned narrations, wearing a platinum ring is prohibited, but its ruling is different from that of gold.
