Question 29: Is it necessary to wear Ihram if we fly into the vicinity of Mecca and pass over the area of Mecca?
✅ Answer: No such command has been given to us, and the rituals of entering and exiting Ihram have specific conditions that do not align with the situation described. Pay attention to the following narration:
📚 Tuhaf al-Uqul
Imam Ali (peace be upon him) said: Say what has been told to you, and be submissive to what has been narrated to you. Do not burden yourself with things that have not been assigned to you, and do not impose on yourself what has not been commanded, for the consequences will be against you. Avoid doubt, for doubt is created for trial and testing.
✅ According to narrations like this one, we are not required to burden ourselves with unnecessary obligations. Especially in this case, when someone enters Ihram, they cannot exit it until they complete the rituals of Umrah. Simply passing over the area of the Haram and Mecca does not impose any duty on us. InshaAllah.
