Answer

✅ Answer: Please pay attention to the following narrations:

📚 Al-Kafi, Vol. 6, p. 201

Translation: Ali ibn Ja'far said: 'I asked Musa ibn Ja'far (peace be upon him) about the Ju'l (reward and commission) for a runaway slave and a lost item.' The Imam said: 'There is no objection.'

✅ 'Ju'l' refers to the wage, reward, or commission that is set for performing a task.

📚 Faqih, Vol. 3, p. 396

Translation: Imam Baqir (peace be upon him) said: 'The Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him) used to say about a lost item: 'When a person finds it and intends to take a reward and commission for it, and then it is lost, he is liable. But if he has no intention of taking a reward for it and it is lost, he is not liable.'

✅ As you can see in the first narration, it is not objectionable to set a reward for finding a lost item. For example, a person can say: 'Whoever finds my lost gold will be paid a certain amount as a reward,' and the person who finds the lost item can receive their reward.
