Question 2180: Should we remind individuals who do not know or are negligent about the instruction to recite Surah Al-Jumu'ah and Al-Munafiqun in the Friday noon prayer?

✅ Answer: Pay attention to the following hadiths:
1 عَنْ عَلِیٍّ عَنْ أَبِیهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِی عُمَیْرٍ عَنْ یَحْیَی الطَّوِیلِ صَاحِبِ الْمُقْرِی قَالَ: قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ إِنَّمَا یُؤْمَرُ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَ یُنْهَی عَنِ الْمُنْکَرِ مُؤْمِنٌ فَیَتَّعِظُ أَوْ جَاهِلٌ فَیَتَعَلَّمُ فَأَمَّا صَاحِبُ سَوْطٍ أَوْ سَیْفٍ فَلَا.

Imam Sadiq (salawat Allah 'alayh) said: Indeed, enjoining good and forbidding evil is done for a believer who takes admonition or an ignorant person who learns, but not for someone with a sword and a whip!
2 عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ النَّضْرِ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شِمْرٍ عَنْ جَابِرٍ عَنْ أَبِی جَعْفَرٍ (علیه السلام) قَالَ: زَکَاةُ الْعِلْمِ أَنْ تُعَلِّمَهُ عِبَادَ اللَّهِ.

Imam Baqir (salawat Allah 'alayh) said: The zakat of knowledge is that you teach it to the servants of Allah!
3 عَنْ أَبِی الطُّفَیْلِ عَامِرِ بْنِ وَاثِلَةَ قَالَ قَالَ أَمِیرُ الْمُؤْمِنِینَ علیه السلام أَ تُحِبُّونَ أَنْ یُكَذَّبَ اللَّهُ وَ رَسُولُهُ حَدِّثُوا النَّاسَ بِمَا یَعْرِفُونَ وَ أَمْسِكُوا عَمَّا یُنْكِرُونَ.

Amir al-Mu'minin (salawat Allah 'alayh) said: Would you like Allah and His Messenger to be denied?! Relate to people what they have knowledge and (acceptance) of, and hold back regarding what they reject!
4 عَنْ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَی قَالَ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ علیهما السلام في حديث قال.... رَحِمَ اللَّهُ عَبْداً اجْتَرَّ مَوَدَّةَ النَّاسِ إِلَیَّ وَ إِلَی نَفْسِهِ یُحَدِّثُهُمْ بِمَا یَعْرِفُونَ وَ یَسْتُرُ عَنْهُمْ مَا یُنْكِرُونَ.

Imam Sadiq (salawat Allah 'alayh) said in a hadith: ... May Allah have mercy on a servant who draws people's affection toward me and toward himself: (in such a way that) he relates to them the hadiths they have knowledge and acceptance of, and hides from them what they reject!
✅ According to the above hadiths and numerous other hadiths, the zakat of knowledge is teaching it to other qualified individuals, and enjoining good is one of the divine obligations in its proper place.
Therefore, if someone lacks awareness or is negligent regarding the recitation of Surah Al-Jumu'ah and Al-Munafiqun in the Friday noon prayer, as well as other obligations and traditions, and is a person of understanding and acceptance regarding the matter at hand—and is not someone who denies the mentioned hadith—we are obligated to give the zakat of our knowledge, teach them the mentioned hadith, and enjoin good upon them.
