✅ Answer: Note the following hadiths:

📚 Al-Kafi, Vol. 6, p. 237

Fudayl, Zurarah, and Muhammad ibn Muslim asked Imam Baqir (peace be upon him) about buying meat from the markets while it is unknown what the butchers do! The Imam said: If it is in the market of the Muslims, eat it and do not ask or investigate it!

📚 Al-Tahdhib, Vol. 2, p. 368

Ishaq ibn Ammar narrated from Imam Kazim (peace be upon him) that he said: There is no problem with praying in fur/leather garments from Yemen or those made in the land of Muslims. I said: What if non-Muslims are also among them? He said: If the majority are Muslims, there is no problem!

📚 Al-Tahdhib, Vol. 2, p. 371

Isma'il ibn Isa said: I asked Imam Kazim (peace be upon him) about a fur garment that a person buys from a market in the 'Jabal' region—should he ask about its slaughter if the seller is a non-practicing Muslim or not? The Imam said: If polytheists (mushrikin) are selling them, you must ask and investigate; but if the (sellers) pray in them, do not ask about it!

📚 Al-Kafi, Vol. 6, p. 339

Abdullah ibn Sulayman said: I asked Imam Baqir (peace be upon him) about cheese (containing animal-derived rennet/infahah); the Imam said: You have asked me about a food that I like! Then he gave a dirham to a servant and said: O servant! Buy some cheese for us! He then requested breakfast and we ate with him; the cheese was brought, he ate from it, and we ate with him!

When we finished breakfast, I said: What do you say about the cheese? The Imam said: Did you not see me eating it? I said: Yes! But I would like to hear it from you!

The Imam then said: I will inform you regarding cheese and other things: Everything that has both a lawful (halal) and unlawful (haram) version is lawful for you until you personally know of a specific instance that is haram, at which point you must leave it!

✅ Based on the above hadiths and others, meat and products containing lawful parts of a halal animal that are sold in Muslim markets or lands where the majority are Muslims are pure (tahir) and usable for eating, etc., and there is no need for investigation or spying, unless one obtains specific knowledge that a particular item was not slaughtered according to Sharia.

However, the slaughter of polytheists and disbelievers and their lands is not considered pure or slaughtered (tadhkiyah) and is not edible.

Therefore, medicinal capsules prepared in the lands of disbelief and polytheism from animal gelatin are not usable and cannot be consumed.

✅ The proof in answering the above question and others is the relevant verses and hadiths; the concluding explanation is to assist understanding and is not the proof itself.
