1⃣عَنِ السَّکُونِیِّ عن أَبِی عَبْداللَّه قال قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ سَیَأْتِی عَلَی النَّاسِ زَمَانٌ تَخْبُثُ فِیهِ سَرَائِرُهُمْ وَ تَحْسُنُ فِیهِ عَلَانِیَتُهُمْ طَمَعاً فِی الدُّنْیَا لَا یُرِیدُونَ بِهِ ما عِنْدَ رَبِّهِمْ یَکُونُ دِینُهُمْ رِیَاءً لَا یُخَالِطُهُمْ خَوْفٌ یَعُمُّهُمُ اللَّهُ بِعِقَابٍ فَیَدْعُونَهُ دُعَاءَ الْغَرِیقِ فَلَا یَسْتَجِیبُ لَهُمْ.

📚 Al-Kafi, Vol. 2, p. 296

Imam al-Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: A time will come upon people when, due to their greed for the world, their inner character will become corrupt while their outward appearance remains good! They do not seek what is with their Lord! Their religion and religiosity will be based on hypocrisy and show, and they will not be truly God-fearing! Allah will punish them with a widespread calamity, and as a result, they will pray as sincerely as a drowning person, yet their prayers will not be answered!

2⃣عن أبی حمزة عن أبی جعفر قال: وَجَدْنَا فی کِتَابِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ إِذَا ظَهَرَ الزِّنَا مِنْ بَعْدِی کَثُرَ مَوْتُ الْفَجْأَةِ و إِذَا طُفِّفَ الْمِکْیَالُ وَ الْمِیزَانُ أَخَذَهُمُ اللَّهُ بِالسِّنِینَ وَ النَّقْصِ وَ إِذَا مَنَعُوا الزَّکَاةَ مَنَعَتِ الْأَرْضُ بَرَکَتَهَا مِنَ الزَّرْعِ و الثِّمَارِ و الْمَعَادِنِ کُلَّهَا و إِذَا جَارُوا فی الْأَحْکَامِ تَعَاوَنُوا عَلَی الظُّلْمِ و الْعُدْوَانِ و إِذَا نَقَضُوا الْعَهْدَ سَلَّطَ اللَّهُ عَلَیْهِمْ عَدُوَّهُمْ و إِذَا قَطَّعُوا الْأَرْحَامَ جُعِلَتِ الْأَمْوَالُ فی أَیْدِی الْأَشْرَارِ و إِذَا لَمْ یَأْمُرُوا بِالْمَعْرُوفِ و لَمْ یَنْهَوْا عَنِ الْمُنْکَرِ و لَمْ یَتَّبِعُوا الْأَخْیَارَ مِنْ أَهْلِ بَیْتِی سَلَّطَ اللَّهُ عَلَیْهِمْ شِرَارَهُمْ فَیَدْعُوا خِیَارُهُمْ فَلَا یُسْتَجَابُ لَهُمْ.

📚 Al-Kafi, Vol. 2, p. 374

Imam al-Baqir (peace be upon him) said: We found in the book of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) that:

When fornication becomes widespread after me, sudden deaths will increase!

When people cheat in weights and measures, Allah will afflict them with famine, drought, and scarcity!

When they withhold zakat, the earth will withhold its blessings from all plants, fruits, and minerals!

When they issue unjust rulings and judgments, they will assist one another in oppression and transgression!

When they sever ties of kinship, wealth will fall into the hands of the wicked!

And when they abandon enjoining good and forbidding evil and do not follow the chosen ones from my Ahlul Bayt (i.e., the infallible Imams, peace be upon them), Allah will place the worst among them in power over them, and as a result, even the righteous among them will pray, but their prayers will not be answered!

✅ Previously, in Question 1115, we presented 13 narrations in multiple posts explaining the general and overall reasons why prayers go unanswered. For a full understanding, please review those narrations carefully.

✅ However, to complete the answer to this question, it is necessary to consider the two narrations above, given the time we are currently living in. We have become involved in certain sins specific to the end times, which have put us in a state where, even if we call upon Allah with complete sincerity—like a drowning person—our prayers are not answered!

Moreover, due to certain sins, such as abandoning enjoining good and forbidding evil and failing to follow the infallible Imams (peace be upon them), we have reached a point where even the righteous pray, but their prayers are not answered!

We, as Shia, could have saved ourselves from this situation sooner by sincerely praying for the hastening of the reappearance of Imam Mahdi (peace be upon him). However, instead of focusing intensely on this essential supplication, some scholars diverted attention to issues like the invalidity of acts of worship without following a jurist, while the general public, instead of learning the hadiths of the infallibles (peace be upon them), adopted the opinions and discussions of various people as their guides. This has led to the unfortunate state we are in today!

✅ Now, we must never despair or abandon prayer. Instead, we must continue to pray intensely for the resolution of our problems. However, we must also seek the real solution—praying for the reappearance of Imam Mahdi (peace be upon him)!

Is this truly the right way to pray for the reappearance of the last proof of Allah (peace be upon him)?!

Before things worsen even further, we must take action!
