✅ Answer: Refer to the following narrations:

1⃣عَنْ جَمِیلِ بْنِ دَرَّاجٍ عَنْ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ: سَأَلْتُهُ عَنْ رَجُلٍ افْتَرَی عَلَی قَوْمٍ جَمَاعَةً قَالَ إِنْ أَتَوْا بِهِ مُجْتَمِعِینَ ضُرِبَ حَدّاً وَاحِداً وَ إِنْ أَتَوْا بِهِ مُتَفَرِّقِینَ ضُرِبَ لِکُلِّ وَاحِدٍ مِنْهُمْ حَدّاً.

📚 Al-Kafi, Vol. 7, p. 209

Jamil bin Darraj said: I asked Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) about someone who accuses a group collectively. The Imam said: If they bring him collectively, one punishment is given. If they bring him individually, he receives a punishment for each one!

2⃣عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ یَحْیَی عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عَلِیِّ بْنِ الْحَکَمِ عَنْ أَبَانِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ الْعَطَّارِ قَالَ: قُلْتُ لِأَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ رَجُلٌ قَذَفَ قَوْماً قَالَ بِکَلِمَةٍ وَاحِدَةٍ قُلْتُ نَعَمْ قَالَ یُضْرَبُ حَدّاً وَاحِداً فَإِنْ فَرَّقَ بَیْنَهُمْ فِی الْقَذْفِ ضُرِبَ لِکُلِّ وَاحِدٍ مِنْهُمْ حَدّاً.

📚 Al-Kafi, Vol. 7, p. 209

Hassan Attar said: I asked Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) about a man who accuses a group (of adultery or sodomy). The Imam asked: With one word? I said: Yes. He said: He is punished once. But if he accuses them individually, he receives a punishment for each!

3⃣عَنْ بُرَیْدٍ عَنْ أَبِی جَعْفَرٍ فِی الرَّجُلِ یَقْذِفُ الْقَوْمَ جَمِیعاً بِکَلِمَةٍ وَاحِدَةٍ قَالَ لَهُ إِذَا لَمْ یُسَمِّهِمْ فَإِنَّمَا عَلَیْهِ حَدٌّ وَاحِدٌ وَ إِنْ سَمَّی فَعَلَیْهِ لِکُلِّ رَجُلٍ حَدٌّ.

📚 Al-Tahdhib, Vol. 10, p. 69

Imam Baqir (peace be upon him) said about someone who accuses a group with one word: If he does not name them, he receives one punishment. If he names them, he is punished for each person he names!

✅ Based on the above narrations, if someone accuses a group of adultery or sodomy with one word, they are subject to one punishment. However, if they name each person individually and accuse them separately, they are punished for each one!

✅ If the accuser accuses a group with one word and the group collectively approaches the Imam to claim their right, one punishment is carried out.

However, if the accuser accuses a group with one word and they approach the Imam individually to claim their right, or if the accuser accuses them individually and they approach the Imam collectively, due to reasons like the ambiguity in the first narration and difficulty in determining the definitive narration among the three above, the author of these lines must say: 'I do not know!'

It is worth mentioning that these last two scenarios are subject to dispute.
