Question 1840: A believing friend has been facing financial and material problems for 6 years. He has tried every prayer, plea, visit, vow, recommendation from scholars, and prayers under the dome of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), but nothing has worked. He has also faced divorce, being a tenant, and more. Now, he is on the verge of losing hope and his faith. What advice do you have for him?
✅ Answer: A person who resorts to supplication and prayer during their difficulties must have faith in certain hadiths.
Therefore, we offer the following recommendations to this dear brother:

✅ Pay attention to the following narrations and never rush. Continue praying earnestly until you achieve results, even if it takes many years:
📚Al-Kafi, vol. 2, p. 474
1⃣عَنْ عَبْدالْعَزِیزِ الطَّوِیل عن أَبِی عَبْداللَّه قَالَ: إِنَّ الْعَبْدَ إِذَا دَعَا لَمْ یَزَلِ اللَّهُ تَبَارَکَ و تَعَالَی فِی حَاجَتِهِ ما لَمْ یَسْتَعْجِلْ.
Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: Indeed, when a servant prays, Allah the Exalted is always working on his behalf, as long as he does not rush!

2⃣عَنْ أَبِی بَصِیرٍ عَنْ أَبِی عَبْداللَّه قال: لَا یَزَالُ الْمُؤْمِنُ بِخَیْرٍ وَ رَجَاءِ رَحْمَةٍ مِنَ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ مَا لَمْ یَسْتَعْجِلْ فَیَقْنَطَ وَ یَتْرُکَ الدُّعَاءَ قُلْتُ لَهُ کَیْفَ یَسْتَعْجِلُ قَالَ یَقُولُ قَدْ دَعَوْتُ مُنْذُ کَذَا وَ کَذَا وَ مَا أَرَی الْإِجَابَةَ.
Abu Basir said: Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: A believer is always in the goodness and mercy of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, as long as he does not rush, which would cause him to despair and abandon supplication. I asked: How does he rush? The Imam replied: He says: I have been praying since such and such a time and do not see an answer!

3⃣عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ عَمَّارٍ قَالَ: قُلْتُ لِأَبِی عَبْداللَّهِ یُسْتَجَابُ لِلرَّجُلِ الدُّعَاءُ ثُمَّ یُؤَخَّرُ قَالَ نَعَمْ عِشْرِینَ سَنَةً.
Ishaq ibn Ammar said: I asked Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him): Is it possible for a prayer to be answered and then delayed? The Imam replied: Yes, even for twenty years!

4⃣عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ سَالِمٍ عَنْ أَبی عَبْداللَّه قال: کَانَ بَیْنَ قَوْلِ اللَّهِ عَزَّوَجَلَّ قَدْ أُجِیبَتْ دَعْوَتُکُما وَ بَیْنَ أَخْذِ فِرْعَوْنَ أَرْبَعِینَ عَاماً.
Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: Between Allah's words (Surah Yunus, verse 89) to Prophet Musa and Harun (peace be upon them): 'I have answered your prayer' and the capture of Pharaoh, there was a forty-year gap!

5⃣عن عَبْداللَّهِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ قال سَمِعْتُ أَباعَبْداللَّه یَقُولُ الدُّعَاءُ یَرُدُّ الْقَضَاءَ بَعْدَ مَا أُبْرِمَ إِبْرَاماً فَأَکْثِرْ مِنَ الدُّعَاءِ فَإِنَّهُ مِفْتَاحُ کُلِّ رَحْمَةٍ و نَجَاحُ کُلِّ حَاجَةٍ وَ لَا یُنَالُ مَا عِنْدَ اللَّهِ عَزَّوَجَلَّ إِلَّا بِالدُّعَاءِ وَ إِنَّهُ لَیْسَ بَابٌ یُکْثَرُ قَرْعُهُ إِلَّا یُوشِکُ أَنْ یُفْتَحَ لِصَاحِبِهِ.
Abdullah ibn Sinan said: I heard Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) say: Prayer can change destiny after it has been decreed. So pray a lot because it is the key to every mercy and the means to attain every need. Nothing that is with Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, can be obtained except by prayer, and there is no door that is persistently knocked upon except that it is on the verge of being opened for the one who knocks!

6⃣عَنِ ابْنِ الْقَدَّاحِ عَنْ أَبِی عَبْداللَّهِ قال قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ رَحِمَ اللَّهُ عَبْداً طَلَبَ مِنَ اللَّهِ عَزَّوَجَلَّ حَاجَةً فَأَلَحَّ فی الدُّعَاءِ اسْتُجِیبَ لَهُ أَوْ لَمْ یُسْتَجَبْ لَهُ...
Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his family) said: May Allah have mercy on the servant who asks Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, for a need and insists on it, whether it is granted to him or not!
