Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: The son of Adam has no cure other than a morsel that keeps his back straight (does not make him fall) and does not make him fall to the ground (does not cause him to collapse)! So when one of you eats, allocate one-third of his stomach to food, one-third to drink, and one-third to breath and air, and do not make yourself fat and obese like a pig that is fattened for slaughter!

✅ In numerous narrations, overeating has been strongly condemned, and moderation in eating has been encouraged. According to the narrations, the limit of moderation is not to eat before experiencing hunger, to stop eating before feeling full and satisfied, and to allocate only one-third of the stomach to food.
