1⃣ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْداللَّهِ یَقُولُ إِنَّ الْعَبْدَ یَقُومُ فَیَقْضِی النَّافِلَةَ فَیُعَجِّبُ الرَّبُّ مَلَائِکَتَهُ مِنْهُ فَیَقُولُ مَلَائِکَتِی عَبْدِی یَقْضِی مَا لَمْ أَفْتَرِضْهُ عَلَیْهِ.

Abdullah ibn Sinan reported: I heard Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) saying: A servant stands up and makes up the recommended prayers (Nawafil), and his Lord amazes and astonishes His angels. He says: O My angels! My servant is making up what I did not make obligatory upon him!

2⃣ عَنْ بُرَیْدِ بْنِ مُعَاوِیَةَ الْعِجْلِیِّ عَنْ أَبِی جَعْفَرٍ أَنَّهُ قَالَ: أَفْضَلُ قَضَاءِ صَلَاةِ اللَّیْلِ فِی السَّاعَةِ الَّتِی فَاتَتْکَ آخِرِ اللَّیْلِ وَ لَیْسَ بَأْسٌ أَنْ تَقْضِیَهَا بِالنَّهَارِ وَ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَزُولَ الشَّمْسُ.

Imam Baqir (peace be upon him) said: The best time to make up the Night Prayer is at the end of the night after it has passed. It is not problematic to make it up during the day before the decline of the sun!

3⃣عَنْ أَبِي بَصِيرٍ قَالَ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اَللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ: إِنْ فَاتَکَ شَیْءٌ مِنْ تَطَوُّعِ اللَّیْلِ وَ النَّهَارِ فَاقْضِهِ عِنْدَ زَوَالِ الشَّمْسِ وَ بَعْدَ الظُّهْرِ عِنْدَ الْعَصْرِ وَ بَعْدَ الْمَغْرِبِ وَ بَعْدَ الْعَتَمَةِ وَ مِنْ آخِرِ السَّحَرِ.

📚 Al-Tahzib, vol. 2, p. 163

Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: If anything from the night or day recommended prayers is missed by you, make it up before noon and after noon, before Asr and after Maghrib, and after Isha and at the end of the dawn!

4⃣عَنْ جَمِیلِ بْنِ دَرَّاجٍ قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ أَبَا الْحَسَنِ الْأَوَّلَ عَنْ قَضَاءِ صَلَاةِ اللَّیْلِ بَعْدَ الْفَجْرِ إِلَی طُلُوعِ الشَّمْسِ فَقَالَ نَعَمْ وَ بَعْدَ الْعَصْرِ إِلَی اللَّیْلِ فَهُوَ مِنْ سِرِّ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمَخْزُونِ.

Jamīl reported: I asked Imam Kazim (peace be upon him) about making up the Night Prayer after the Fajr prayer until sunrise. He replied: Yes! And after Asr until night, as these are among the secrets stored by the family of Muhammad (peace be upon them).

5⃣عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ یَحْیَی عَنْ حَبِیبٍ قَالَ: کَتَبْتُ إِلَی أَبِی الْحَسَنِ الرِّضَا تَکُونُ عَلَیَّ الصَّلَاةُ النَّافِلَةُ مَتَی أَقْضِیهَا فَکَتَبَ أَیَّ سَاعَةٍ شِئْتَ مِنْ لَیْلٍ أَوْ نَهَارٍ.

📚 Al-Kafi, vol. 3, p. 454

Habib reported: I wrote to Imam Ali al-Ridha (peace be upon him): The responsibility of the recommended prayers is upon me; when should I make them up? Imam Ali al-Ridha (peace be upon him) replied: At any hour of the night or day you wish!

6⃣عَنْ أَبِی بَکْرٍ عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ قَالَ: إِذَا دَخَلَ وَقْتُ صَلَاةٍ مَفْرُوضَةٍ فَلَا تَطَوُّعَ.

📚 Al-Tahzib, vol. 2, p. 167

Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: When the time of the obligatory prayer comes, there is no recommended prayer (Nawafil) at that time!

✅ According to the above narrations and others, if someone misses the Night Prayer, they can make it up at any hour of the night or day when it is convenient, and it does not conflict with the obligatory prayers. The recommended times for making up the Night Prayer include the hours of dawn and after the Fajr prayer until sunrise.
