Question 1716: If a person urinates or relieves themselves during the Sa'i between Safa and Marwah and goes to relieve themselves, should they restart the Sa'i from the beginning or continue from where they left off?
✅ Answer: Please refer to the following narration:
📚 Al-Kafi, Vol. 4, p. 438
Yahya says: I asked Imam Abu al-Hasan (peace be upon him): A person performs three or four rounds of Sa'i between Safa and Marwah and then urinates. Should they complete their Sa'i without ablution? The Imam said: There is no problem, but it is more beloved to me if they complete their rites with ablution!
✅ Based on the above narration, it is clear that if someone urinates during the Sa'i between Safa and Marwah, they should return and continue the Sa'i from where they left off. Although they can continue without ablution, it is more beloved to our Master to perform it with ablution.
