1⃣عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِی عُمَیْرٍ عَنِ الْحَلَبِیِّ عَنْ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ : وَ أَیُّ مُحْرِمٍ هَلَکَتْ نَعْلَاهُ فَلَمْ یَکُنْ لَهُ نَعْلَانِ فَلَهُ أَنْ یَلْبَسَ الْخُفَّیْنِ إِذَا اضْطُرَّ إِلَی ذَلِکَ وَ الْجَوْرَبَیْنِ یَلْبَسُهُمَا إِذَا اضْطُرَّ إِلَی لُبْسِهِمَا.

📚 Al-Tahdhib, Vol. 5, p. 384

Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: Any man in Ihram whose sandals are lost and he has no sandals, if he is in necessity, he can wear a closed shoe (khuff) and in the case of socks, if he is in necessity, he can wear them!

2⃣عَنْ رِفَاعَةَ بْنِ مُوسَی أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنِ الْمُحْرِمِ یَلْبَسُ الْجَوْرَبَیْنِ قَالَ نَعَمْ وَ الْخُفَّیْنِ إِذَا اضْطُرَّ إِلَیْهِمَا.

📚 Al-Faqih, Vol. 2, p. 340

Rifa'ah asked Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) about a man in Ihram who wears socks; the Imam said: Yes! And also khuff! If he is in necessity and hardship!

3⃣عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ یَحْیَی عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عَلِیِّ بْنِ الْحَکَمِ عَنْ عَلِیِّ بْنِ أَبِی حَمْزَةَ عَنْ أَبِی بَصِیرٍ عَنْ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ فِی رَجُلٍ هَلَکَتْ نَعْلَاهُ وَ لَمْ یَقْدِرْ عَلَی نَعْلَیْنِ قَالَ لَهُ أَنْ یَلْبَسَ الْخُفَّیْنِ إِنِ اضْطُرَّ إِلَی ذَلِکَ وَ لْیَشُقَّهُ عَنْ ظَهْرِ الْقَدَمِ الْحَدِیثَ.

📚 Al-Kafi, Vol. 4, p. 346

Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: If a man’s sandals are lost and he cannot access sandals, he can wear khuff (closed shoe), if he is in necessity, and he must slit the top of the shoe!

✅ Based on the above narrations and others, wearing socks and closed shoes is only allowed in a state of necessity, hardship, and emergency for men in Ihram, and in non-emergency situations, they are not permitted to wear them.

✅ If a man does not have access to sandals (open shoes) and is forced to wear closed shoes, according to narration 3⃣, he must slit the top of the shoe.
