Answer

✅Answer:

📚Al-Kafi, Vol. 1, p. 70

Translation: The Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him) said: 'The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his family) said: 'There is no saying or belief except with action, and there is no saying or action (that is beneficial) except with intention, and there is no saying, action, or intention except with reaching from the tradition.'

✅According to numerous narrations like the one above, a believer must perform all his actions, sayings, and intentions in accordance with the tradition to be beneficial for him and not be punished for being an innovation.

✅Regarding holding ceremonies on the seventh, fortieth, and anniversary for the deceased, no command or tradition has been narrated from the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) for it, and it has no place in religious practices. One of the alternative ways is the narrations that encourage us to send a gift to the deceased. For example:

📚Man la Yahduruhu al-Faqih, Vol. 1, p. 183

Translation: Muhammad ibn 'Umar ibn Yazid said: I said to Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him): 'Is a prayer performed on behalf of the deceased?' He said: 'Yes, to the extent that the deceased is in distress and narrowness, then Allah expands that narrowness for him, then it is said to the deceased: 'This distress has been alleviated from you because of the prayer of your brother so-and-so.' He said: 'I said: 'Can I share two people in two 'rak'ahs' of prayer?' He said: 'Yes,' and he said: 'Indeed, the deceased is gladdened by mercy being sent to him and seeking forgiveness for him, just as a living person is gladdened and happy with a gift that is sent to him.'

📚Wasa'il al-Shi'ah, Vol. 8, p. 280

Translation: Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said:

'Indeed, prayer, fasting, charity, Hajj, 'Umrah, and every good deed benefits the deceased to the extent that the deceased is in distress, and it is expanded for him, so it is said: 'This is because of the deed of your son so-and-so,' and (or) 'because of the deed of your religious brother so-and-so.'

📚Bihar, Vol. 88, p. 310

Translation: Hisham said: I said to Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him): 'Do supplication, charity, fasting, and the like reach the deceased?' He said: 'Yes,' I said: 'And does the deceased know who did this?' He said: 'Yes,' then he said: '(It may be that) the deceased is in a state of wrath, and (as a result of sending this gift) he becomes content.'

✅Numerous narrations in this regard are found in the Shi'a hadith collections, and it is good that instead of the ceremonies of the seventh, fortieth, and anniversary, for which no tradition has been narrated from the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), we send things like supplication, prayer, charity, and... to the deceased, which, for example, in hadith 📚Wasa'il (30 volumes), Vol. 8, p. 278, a reward is also established for the one who does this because of his connection with his relatives and companions.

✅We hope that by publishing the narrations of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), we make all our actions and deeds based on their luminous sayings. If Allah wills.
