Question 246: Is it permissible to receive payment for writing verses of the Quran on posters and other items?

✅Answer: Please pay attention to the following narrations:
1 مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِدْرِيسَ فِي آخِرِ السَّرَائِرِ نَقْلًا مِنْ جَامِعِ الْبَزَنْطِيِّ صَاحِبِ الرِّضَا قَالَ: سَأَلْتُهُ عَنِ الرَّجُلِ يَكْتُبُ الْمُصْحَفَ بِالْأَجْرِ قَالَ لَا بَأْسَ بِهِ.
📚 Mustatrafat al-Sara'ir p. 55
Translation: Bazanti said: I asked Imam al-Ridha (peace be upon him) about a person who copies the Quran for a fee and payment; the Imam said: There is no problem with that.
✅ According to the above narration, there is no problem with receiving payment for copying the Quran.
2 عَلِيِّ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ عَنْ أَخِيهِ مُوسَى بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ قَالَ: سَأَلْتُهُ عَنِ الرَّجُلِ يَكْتُبُ الْمُصْحَفَ بِالْأَجْرِ قَالَ لَا بَأْسَ.
📚 Qurb al-Isnad p. 115
Translation: Ali ibn Ja'far said: I asked my brother Musa ibn Ja'far (peace be upon him) about a person who writes the Quran for a fee and payment; the Imam said: There is no problem with that.
✅ According to the above narrations and others, there is no problem with receiving payment for writing the Quran, but this is different from buying and selling the Quran, and buying and selling the Quran has separate rulings.
