✅ Answer: Pay attention to the following narrations:

1 قَالَ الصَّادِقُ السُّجُودُ عَلَی طِینِ قَبْرِ الْحُسَیْنِ یُنَوِّرُ إِلَی الْأَرَضِینَ السَّبْعَةِ وَ مَنْ کَانَتْ مَعَهُ سُبْحَةٌ مِنْ طِینِ قَبْرِ الْحُسَیْنِ کُتِبَ مُسَبِّحاً وَ إِنْ لَمْ یُسَبِّحْ بِهَا

📚 Al-Faqih, Vol. 1, p. 268

Imam Sadiq, peace be upon him, said: Prostrating on the soil of Imam Husayn, peace be upon him, gives light up to the seven earths, and whoever has a rosary from the dust of the grave of Imam Husayn, peace be upon him, with him, the one who performs remembrance is written down as one who has performed remembrance, even if he does not say anything with that rosary!

2 فِی کِتَابِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ مَحْبُوبٍ أَنَّ أَبَا عَبْداللَّه سُئِلَ عَنِ اسْتِعْمَالِ التُّرْبَتَیْنِ مِنْ طِینِ قَبْرِ حَمْزَةَ وَ الْحُسَیْنِ وَ التَّفَاضُلِ بَیْنَهُمَا فَقَالَ السُّبْحَةُ الَّتِی مِنْ طِینِ قَبْرِ الْحُسَیْنِ تُسَبِّحُ بِیَدِ الرَّجُلِ مِنْ غَیْرِ أَنْ یُسَبِّح

Imam Sadiq, peace be upon him, was asked about using the two soils of the grave of Hamza and the grave of Imam Husayn, peace be upon him, and the superiority between them; the Imam said: A rosary that is from the soil of Imam Husayn, peace be upon him, performs remembrance in the person's hand even if he does not perform remembrance!

3 عَنْ بَعْضِ أَصْحَابِ أَبِي اَلْحَسَنِ مُوسَى بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ عَلَيْهِمَااَلسَّلاَمُ قَالَ: دَخَلْتُ إِلَيْهِ فَقَالَ لاَ تَسْتَغْنِي شِيعَتُنَا عَنْ أَرْبَعٍ خُمْرَةٍ يُصَلِّي عَلَيْهَا وَ خَاتَمٍ يَتَخَتَّمُ بِهِ وَ سِوَاكٍ يَسْتَاكُ بِهِ وَ سُبْحَةٍ مِنْ طِينِ قَبْرِ أَبِي عَبْدِ اَللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ فِيهَا ثَلاَثٌ وَ ثَلاَثُونَ حَبَّةً مَتَى قَلَبَهَا ذَاكِراً لِلَّهِ كُتِبَ لَهُ بِكُلِّ حَبَّةٍ أَرْبَعُونَ حَسَنَةً وَ إِذَا قَلَبَهَا سَاهِياً يَعْبَثُ بِهَا كُتِبَ لَهُ عِشْرُونَ حَسَنَةً

One of the companions said: I entered upon Imam Kazim, peace be upon him. So the Imam said: Our Shiites do not do without four things: a prayer mat to pray on, a ring to wear on their hand, a toothpick to brush their teeth with, and a rosary from the soil of Imam Husayn, peace be upon him, which has 33 beads in it, for whenever he turns it with the remembrance of Allah, forty good deeds are written for him with every bead, and if he turns it while he is heedless and without intention, 20 good deeds are written for him!

4 مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْداللَّه بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ الْحِمْیَرِیِّ أَنَّهُ کَتَبَ إِلَی صاحِبِ الزَّمَانِ یَسْأَلُهُ هَلْ یَجُوزُ أَنْ یُسَبِّحَ الرَّجُلُ بِطِینِ الْقَبْرِ وَ هَلْ فِیهِ فَضْلٌ فَأَجَابَ یَجُوزُ أَنْ یُسَبِّحَ بِهِ فَمَا مِنْ شَیْءٍ مِنَ السُّبَحِ أَفْضَلَ مِنْهُ و مِنْ فَضْلِهِ أَنَّ الْمُسَبِّحَ یَنْسَی التَّسْبِیحَ وَ یُدِیرُ السُّبْحَةَ فَیُکْتَبُ لَهُ التَّسْبِیحُ...

📚 Al-Ihtijaj, p. 489

Himyari wrote a letter to the Imam of the Age, peace be upon him, and asked him whether it is permissible for a person to perform remembrance with the soil of the grave of Imam Husayn, peace be upon him, and is there any virtue in it? The Imam replied: It is permissible to perform remembrance with it, and there is nothing more virtuous than it among rosaries, and one of its virtues is that the one who performs remembrance forgets the remembrance and turns the rosary, so the remembrance is written for him.

5 عن الصادق جعفر بن محمد قال: إِنَّ فاطمةَ بِنْتَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ كانَ سُبْحَتُهَا مِنْ خَيْطِ صُوفٍ مُفَتَّلٍ مَعْقُودٍ عَلَيْهِ عَدَدَ التَّكْبِيرات و كَانَتْ تُدِيرُهَا بِيَدِهَا تُكَبِّرُ و تُسَبِّحُ حَتَّى قُتِلَ حَمْزَةُ بْنُ عَبْدالْمُطَّلِبِ فَاسْتَعْمَلَتْ تُرْبَتَهُ و عَمِلَتِ التَّسَابيحَ فَاسْتَعْمَلَهَا النَّاسُ فَلَمَّا قُتِلَ الْحُسَيْنُ عُدِلَ بِالْأَمْرِ إِلَيْهِ فَاسْتَعْمَلُوا تُرْبَتَهُ لِمَا فِيهِ مِنَ الْفَضْلِ و الْمَزِيَّة

Imam Sadiq, peace be upon him, said: Indeed, the rosary of Fatimah, the daughter of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, was made of spun wool thread on which knots were tied in the number of the takbirs (i.e., 34), and she would turn it and say takbir and tasbih until Hamza ibn Abd al-Muttalib was killed, so she used his soil and made a rosary from it, and people also used it. Then when Imam Husayn, peace be upon him, was killed, the matter turned to him, and his soil was used due to the virtue and superiority that it has!

✅ According to the above narrations and others, even though there is no specific dislikedness or prohibition for a wooden rosary, what is a sunnah for a rosary and recommended by the Ahl al-Bayt, peace be upon them, and has great virtue and superiority, is a rosary that is made from the soil of Imam Husayn, peace be upon him.
