✅ Answer: Please pay attention to the following narrations:

📚 Al-Kafi, vol. 3, p. 347

Zurarah said: I asked Imam Baqir (prayers of God be upon him) about a person who forgets the Takbirat al-Ihram; the Imam said: He must repeat (the prayer)!

📚 Tahdhib, vol. 2, p. 143

Imam Baqir or Imam Sadiq (prayers of God be upon them both) said about a person who remembers that he did not say the Takbir at the beginning of his prayer: If he is certain that he did not say the Takbir, he must repeat it, but how can he be certain?!

📚 Tahdhib, vol. 2, p. 142

Ubayd ibn Zurarah said: I asked Imam Sadiq (prayers of God be upon him) about a person who says the Iqamah of the prayer and forgets to say the Takbir until he begins the prayer; he said: He must repeat (the prayer)!

4 From Dhurayh ibn Muhammad al-Muharibi, from Abu Abdullah, he said: I asked him about a man who forgets to say the Takbir until he has recited. He said: He says the Takbir.

📚 Tahdhib, vol. 2, p. 143

Dhurayh said: I asked Imam Sadiq (prayers of God be upon him) about a person who forgets to say the Takbir until he has recited; the Imam said: He says the Takbir (and repeats the prayer)!

5 From Ammar, he said: I asked Abu Abdullah about a man who makes a mistake behind the Imam (in congregational prayer) and does not open the prayer (with Takbirat al-Ihram); the Imam said: He repeats the prayer, for there is no prayer without an opening (i.e., Takbirat al-Ihram)!

📚 Tahdhib, vol. 2, p. 353

Zurarah said: I said to Imam Sadiq (prayers of God be upon him): A person doubts the Adhan while he has entered the Iqamah? He said: He passes over it (does not pay attention).

I said: A person doubts the Adhan and Iqamah while he has said the Takbirat al-Ihram? He said: He passes over it (does not pay attention).

I said: A person doubts the Takbirat al-Ihram while he has entered the recitation? He said: He passes over it (does not pay attention).

I said: He doubts the recitation while he has gone into Ruku (bowing)? He said: He passes over it (does not pay attention).

I said: He doubts the Ruku while he has gone into prostration? He said: He continues his prayer!

Then he said: O Zurarah! When you have moved past something and entered something else, your doubt is nothing (it is not paid attention to).

✅ Based on the above narrations and others, if a person is certain at any point that they did not say the Takbirat al-Ihram of the prayer or they are certain that they forgot it, they must start their prayer from the beginning and repeat it.

And if they doubt after beginning the recitation whether they said the Takbirat al-Ihram or not, they should not pay attention to it and continue their prayer, and there is no problem, unless they are certain that they omitted it, in which case they must repeat their prayer.

✅ It is clear that when one is in the place of Takbirat al-Ihram and has not yet entered the recitation, if they doubt whether they have said the Takbirat al-Ihram or not, they are obligated to say the Takbirat al-Ihram to be certain that they have said it, because they have not yet passed its place and have not entered the next part, and only doubt after the place is not paid attention to, not doubt within the place.

✅ It is important to note that the prayer of Tawajjuh (attention) that is recited before the recitation is part of the opening Sunnah and is not considered moving past the place of Takbirat al-Ihram. If a person doubts the Takbirat al-Ihram while in the middle of the prayer of Tawajjuh, they are obligated to say the Takbir and start the prayer again, because they have not yet entered the recitation.
