✅ Some acts and supplications for protection from the evil of a ruler

1 Imam al-Sadiq (peace of God be upon him) said: Indeed, the fear of a ruler increases for one of you, and this is not but because of sins! So, refrain from sins as much as you can and do not continue to commit them!

2 Imam al-Baqir (peace of God be upon him) said to Abdullah ibn Abd al-Rahman: Shall I not teach you a supplication that we, the Ahl al-Bayt, recite when a matter grieves us or when we fear the evil of a ruler or a matter that we are not capable of facing? I said: Yes! May my father and mother be sacrificed for you, O son of the Messenger of God! Then the Imam said: Say:

یَا کَائِناً قَبْلَ کُلِّ شَیْ ءٍ وَ یَا مُکَوِّنَ کُلِّ شَیْءٍ وَ یَا بَاقِی بَعْدَ کُلِّ شَیْءٍ صَلِّ عَلَی مُحَمَّدٍ وَ أَهْلِ بَیْتِهِ وَ افْعَلْ بِی کَذَا وَ کَذَا

(Instead of 'so-and-so', the desired matter is mentioned)

3 One of the companions said: I said to Imam al-Sadiq (peace of God be upon him): I am a man who has a lot of pain and illness, and I have not left any medicine without treating myself with it! The Imam said: Why are you heedless of the soil of the grave of Husayn (peace be upon him)! For it is a cure for every pain and a protection from every fear.

He continued to say: I understood 'a cure for every pain', but how is it 'a protection from every fear'? The Imam said: When you are afraid of a ruler or someone else, do not leave your house unless you have some of the soil of the grave of Husayn (peace be upon him) with you, and when you take it, say:

اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّ هَذِهِ طِینُةُ قَبْرِ الْحُسَیْنِ وَلِیِّکَ وَ ابْنِ وَلِیِّکَ أَخَذْتُهَا حِرْزاً لِمَا أَخَافُ وَ لِمَا لَا أَخَافُ

For sometimes things happen to you that you did not fear!

The man said: I took it as the Imam had told me, so God gave health to my body, and just as he had told me, it was a protection for me from something I feared or did not fear, and by the grace of God, I did not see any sickness after that!

4 Ibn Abbas says: Ali ibn Abi Talib (peace of God be upon him) came to the Messenger of God (peace of God be upon him and his family) and asked for something from him. So the Prophet (peace of God be upon him and his family) said: I swear by the one who chose me for prophethood with the truth, I have neither little nor much with me, but I will teach you something that my friend Jibril brought to me and said: O Muhammad! This is a gift for you from God Almighty and Glorious, with which God has honored you and has not given to any of the prophets before you, and it consists of nineteen letters which no one in distress, calamity, sorrow, or grief, or during a theft or a fire, recites, and no servant who fears a ruler says it, except that God removes his sorrow and problem, and it is 19 letters, four of which are on the forehead of Israfil, and four on the forehead of Mikail, and four around the Throne, and four on the forehead of Jibril, and three of them are written wherever God wills!

Commander of the Faithful (peace of God be upon him) stood up and said: O Messenger of God! How should he recite that supplication? He said: Say:

یَا عِمَادَ مَنْ لَا عِمَادَ لَهُ وَ یَا ذُخْرَ مَنْ لَا ذُخْرَ لَهُ وَ یَا سَنَدَ مَنْ لَا سَنَدَ لَهُ وَ یَا حِرْزَ مَنْ لَا حِرْزَ لَهُ وَ یَا غِیَاثَ مَنْ لَا غِیَاثَ لَهُ وَ یَا کَرِیمَ الْعَفْوِ وَ یَا حَسَنَ الْبَلَاءِ وَ یَا عَظِیمَ الرَّجَاءِ یَا عِزَّ الضُّعَفَاءِ یَا مُنْقِذَ الْغَرْقَی یَا مُنْجِیَ الْهَلْکَی یَا مُحْسِنُ یَا مُجْمِلُ یَا مُنْعِمُ یَا مُفْضِلُ أَنْتَ الَّذِی سَجَدَ لَکَ سَوَادُ اللَّیْلِ وَ نُورُ النَّهَارِ وَ ضَوْءُ الْقَمَرِ وَ شُعَاعُ الشَّمْسِ وَ دَوِیُّ الْمَاءِ وَ حَفِیفُ الشَّجَرِ یَا اللَّهُ یَا اللَّهُ یَا اللَّهُ أَنْتَ وَحْدَکَ لَا شَرِیکَ لَکَ

Then say:

اللَّهُمَّ افْعَلْ بِی کَذَا وَ کَذَا

(Instead of 'so-and-so', the desired need is mentioned)

For you will not leave your place except that it will be answered for you. If God wills.

📚 Khisal, vol. 2, p. 96

5 Imam al-Sadiq (peace of God be upon him) said: The one who says ten times every day:

أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِیکَ لَهُ إِلَهاً وَاحِداً أَحَداً صَمَداً لَمْ یَتَّخِذْ صَاحِبَةً وَ لَا وَلَداً

God will write 45 thousand good deeds for him, erase 45 thousand sins, raise his rank by 10 degrees, and it will be a protection and refuge for him from Satan and the ruler on that day, and no major sin will afflict him!

اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَی مُحَمَّدٍ و آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ و عَجِّلْ لِوَلِیِّکَ الْفَرَجَ و الْعَافیَةَ و النَّصْر
