✅ Answer: In Surah An-Nur, verse 31, Allah the Almighty says:

وَقُلْ لِلْمُؤْمِنَاتِ يَغْضُضْنَ مِنْ أَبْصَارِهِنَّ وَيَحْفَظْنَ فُرُوجَهُنَّ وَلَا يُبْدِينَ زِينَتَهُنَّ إِلَّا مَا ظَهَرَ مِنْهَا.....

Translation: And tell the believing women to lower their gaze and guard their private parts, and not to display their adornments except that which [ordinarily] appears thereof...

In the interpretation of the phrase ((that which [ordinarily] appears thereof)) and the adornments that women are permitted to reveal, the book 📚 Wasa'il al-Shia, Vol. 14, Page 145, Chapter 109, mentions a few examples, including rings and kohl, as stated by the Ahlul Bayt (peace be upon them). However, adornments like eyebrow makeup are not among the permissible items, and if adorned, they must not be revealed to non-mahram individuals, according to the verse and narrations.

Regarding sunscreen, if it is considered an adornment or causes adornment, it falls under this verse. If applied, it must be covered. Merely being labeled as sunscreen does not exclude it from being an adornment, as many sunscreens also enhance appearance. In cases of doubt, as instructed by the Ahlul Bayt, one should avoid such doubtful matters and ensure it is covered.

عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ حَنْظَلَةَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ فِي حَدِيثٍ قَالَ: وَ إِنَّمَا الْأُمُورُ ثَلَاثَةٌ أَمْرٌ بَيِّنٌ رُشْدُهُ فَيُتَّبَعُ وَ أَمْرٌ بَيِّنٌ غَيُّهُ فَيُجْتَنَبُ وَ أَمْرٌ مُشْكِلٌ يُرَدُّ عِلْمُهُ إِلَى اللَّهِ (وَ إِلَى رَسُولِهِ) قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ حَلَالٌ بَيِّنٌ وَ حَرَامٌ بَيِّنٌ وَ شُبُهَاتٌ بَيْنَ ذَلِكَ فَمَنْ تَرَكَ الشُّبُهَاتِ نَجَا مِنَ الْمُحَرَّمَاتِ وَ مَنْ أَخَذَ بِالشُّبُهَاتِ ارْتَكَبَ الْمُحَرَّمَاتِ وَ هَلَكَ مِنْ حَيْثُ لَا يَعْلَمُ ثُمَّ قَالَ فِي آخِرِ الْحَدِيثِ فَإِنَّ الْوُقُوفَ عِنْدَ الشُّبُهَاتِ خَيْرٌ مِنَ الِاقْتِحَامِ فِي الْهَلَكَاتِ.

اللّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَی مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَ عَجِّلْ لِوَلِیِّکَ الْفَرَجَ وَ الْعَافِیَةَ وَ النَّصْرَ
