Question 1458: Is it necessary to make up the prayers and fasts of a father who denied prayer and fasting and has passed away?
✅ Answer: Pay attention to the following narrations:
📚 Al-Mahasin, p. 166.
Imam Sadiq, peace be upon him, said: With faith, no deed causes harm, and with disbelief, no deed brings benefit. Then he said: Do you not see that Allah, Blessed and Exalted, says (in Surah Tawbah, verse 54): 'Nothing prevented their charity from being accepted except that they disbelieved in Allah and His Messenger...' and they died while they were disbelievers!
📚 Kafi, Vol. 2, p. 389
Abu Umar Zubairi says: I said to Imam Sadiq, peace be upon him: Inform me about how disbelief is described in the Book of Allah, the Mighty and Exalted (Quran)? He said: Disbelief in the Book of Allah is of five types: disbelief of denial, which is of two kinds, disbelief by abandoning what Allah has commanded, disbelief of dissociation (and rejection), and disbelief in blessings...
📚 Kafi, Vol. 2, p. 383
Imam Sadiq, peace be upon him, said in a hadith: Indeed, Allah, the Mighty and Exalted, has made certain obligations incumbent upon His servants, so whoever abandons an obligation from the obligatory acts, does not perform it, and denies it, he is a disbeliever!
📚 Kafi, Vol. 2, p. 387
Muhammad ibn Muslim says: I heard Imam Baqir, peace be upon him, say: Everything that leads to acknowledgment and submission is faith, and everything that leads to denial and rejection is disbelief!
✅ Based on the above narrations and others, someone who abandons prayer and fasting out of denial and rejection has entered into the disbelief of rejection, and with this disbelief, no deed benefits him. Making up the prayers and fasts of such a person, who was fundamentally a disbeliever, is not incumbent upon his heir and fundamentally does not benefit him.
✅ Regarding a person who abandons their prayers and fasts out of laziness, without denial or rejection, and has not fallen into apostasy or the disbelief of rejection, this will be discussed separately. God willing.

☘ Expressing a need and stating a problem to brothers:
📚 Kafi, Vol. 2, p. 412
Imam Sadiq, peace be upon him, said to Hasan ibn Rashid:
O Hasan, when a problem befalls you, do not complain about it to anyone from the people of opposition or dissent, but mention it to one of your brothers,
For (if you do so) you will never miss out on one of four qualities:
Either assistance with wealth,
Or help with status and position,
Or a prayer that will be answered,
Or consultation with advice.
