✅ Answer: Please pay attention to the following narrations:

📚 Al-Faqih, Vol. 2, p. 108

Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: 'When you fast, your ears, eyes, hair, and skin must also fast,' and the Imam enumerated things like this, 'and the day of fasting should not be like the day of not fasting!'

📚 Al-Tahdhib, Vol. 4, p. 189

Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: 'Fasting is not (only) from food and drink, and it is appropriate for a person to protect his tongue from vain talk in Ramadan and outside of Ramadan!'

📚 Al-Muqni'ah, p. 49

Amir al-Mu'minin (peace be upon him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his family) said: 'Whoever fasts Ramadan out of faith and anticipation and restrains his ears, eyes, and tongue from people, Allah will accept his fast and forgive his past and future sins and will grant him the reward of the patient ones!'

📚 Iqbal al-A'mal, p. 87

Muhammad ibn 'Ajaln said: I heard Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) say: 'Fasting is not from food and drink alone, where a person only refrains from eating and drinking. But when you fast, your ears and hearing, your eyes and sight, your tongue, your stomach, and your private parts must also fast. Protect your hands and private parts (from sin), increase your silence except for good, and be gentle and lenient with your servant!'

📚 Nawadir Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Isa, p. 20, Hadith 9

Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: 'When you fast, your hearing and sight must fast from the forbidden, and your limbs and all your organs must fast from indecency and ugliness. Keep away from nonsense and harming your servant. The solemnity of fasting must be on you, and cling to silence as much as you can, except for the remembrance of Allah, and do not make the day of fasting like the day of not fasting...'

📚 Nawadir Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Isa, p. 23, Hadith 12

Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: 'Nothing that a fasting person does will harm him, provided he avoids three habits:

Food and drink and immersion in water,

And women,

And ill-omened and bad deeds and speech.'

📚 Iqbal al-A'mal, p. 87

The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his family) said: 'The lightest thing that Allah has made obligatory on the fasting person in the obligatory fast is the abandonment of food and drink!'

✅ Based on the above narrations and others, although listening to music is severely condemned by the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) for all times, during fasting and in the month of Ramadan in particular, it is specifically recommended that the ears, eyes, and other limbs and organs of the body also fast. This means that the ears and other limbs should stay away from sin and forbidden things, and if the ears and others do not fast from sin and the forbidden, the value of the fast is severely diminished.
