Answer

✅Answer: Some of the correct ways to do this are:

1- We buy the goods from him ourselves and sell them for a higher price:

1 Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said to Umar ibn Yazid in a hadith:

O Umar; indeed, Allah has made buying and selling lawful and has made usury forbidden...

📚 Man la Yahduruh al-Faqih, vol. 3, page 278

2 Also, Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said to Sama'ah in a hadith:

Translation: Indeed, Allah, the Blessed and Exalted, says: 'Do not consume your property among yourselves wrongfully, but let there be trade by mutual consent among you...'

✅ Surah An-Nisa, verse 29

📚 Al-Kafi, vol. 5, page 95

2- The shopkeeper finds a customer for this person's goods as an intermediary:

📚 Al-Kafi, vol. 5, page 196

Translation: Imam Sadiq and Imam Baqir (peace be upon them) said: 'There is no problem with the wage and payment of a broker. Indeed, he buys (and sells) for people day by day for a specified wage. Indeed, such a person is like the workers and hired hands.'

✅ A broker is an intermediary between the buyer and the seller, meaning a person who buys or sells something for others. According to the narrations, including the one above, the wage that the person who commissions the broker sets for him is not a problem. For example, we can say to the broker: 'Sell this item for me and I will give you a certain amount as a wage.'

✅ Also, pay attention to the following narration:

📚 Tahdhib, vol. 7, page 157

Translation: Ya'qub ibn Shu'ayb said: I asked Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) about a person who sells goods for people, is he a guarantor of their property? The Imam said: 'If his heart is willing to guarantee it (he can guarantee it), but I fear that (if he guarantees himself) he will be made to owe more than the profit he earns from them. But if he himself is willing to guarantee it, there is no problem.'

3- Another way to earn a profit from selling goods for others is mentioned in the following hadith:

📚 Tahdhib, vol. 7, page 54

Translation: Muhammad ibn Muslim said: Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) was asked about a person who says to another: 'Sell this garment for me for ten dirhams, and whatever you sell it for more is yours.' The Imam said: 'There is no problem with this.'

✅ This means the owner of the goods tells a person: 'Sell this item for me for a certain price, and whatever you sell it for more is yours,' and the intermediary accepts this work after considering and assessing its profitability, and after selling the goods, he gives that specified amount to the owner of the goods and takes the excess for himself.

✅ Also, pay attention to the following hadith:

6 Abu Sabah al-Kinani said: Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) was asked: 'A man takes goods for sale from merchants, and they set a price for him and say: 'Sell these (for this price) and whatever you sell them for more is yours.'' The Imam said: 'There is no problem with it, but he should not sell them with murabaha.'

📚 Al-Kafi, vol. 5, page 195

✅ Murabaha is when the seller announces the cost price of the goods to the buyer and says that he wants a certain amount or a certain percentage of profit on it.

The murabaha transaction is forbidden in some narrations, and its permissibility is also mentioned in narrations, but in the case of the above issue, it is specifically forbidden, and this broker should not say: 'This item cost me a certain amount, and I want a certain amount of profit on it,' because this person has not actually bought it and is nothing more than an agent and a broker.

✅ Three ways to earn a profit from selling goods for others were introduced from the narrations. It is obvious that other ways of doing this must conform to the specific or general principles of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) in order to act according to them.
