Question 1384: Is it required to say the phrase 'Lā bi-shay'in min ālā'ika rabbī ukadhdhibu' after the verse 'Fa bi ayyī ālā'ī rabbikumā tukadhdhibān' in Surah Ar-Rahmān every time the Surah is recited, or is it only for its recitation on Friday mornings?
Virtue of Reciting Surah Ar-Rahmān
✅ Answer: Please consider the following narrations:
📚Al-Kāfi, Vol. 3, p. 428
Hammād bin ‘Uthmān said: I heard Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) say: It is recommended to recite the entire Surah Ar-Rahmān after the Fajr prayer on Friday, and after every time you say 'Fa bi ayyī ālā'ī rabbikumā tukadhdhibān,' you should say: 'Lā bi-shay'in min ālā'ika rabbī ukadhdhibu.'
📚Thawāb al-A‘māl, p. 144, Hadith 2
Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: Whoever recites Surah Ar-Rahmān and says 'Lā bi-shay'in min ālā'ika rabbī ukadhdhibu' after every instance of 'Fa bi ayyī ālā'ī rabbikumā tukadhdhibān,' if he recites it at night and then dies, he dies a martyr; and if he recites it during the day and then dies, he dies as a martyr in this world!
📚Mustadrak al-Wasā'il, Vol. 4, p. 180
Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: Whoever recites Surah Ar-Rahmān, after reciting 'Fa bi ayyī ālā'ī rabbikumā tukadhdhibān,' should say: 'Lā bi-shay'in min ālā'ika rabbī ukadhdhibu.'
✅ In Surah Ar-Rahmān, the verse 'Fa bi ayyī ālā'ī rabbikumā tukadhdhibān' is repeated 31 times. According to the above narrations and others, although it is specifically recommended to recite this Surah after the Fajr prayer on Friday, based on narrations 2 and 3, it is recommended to say 'Lā bi-shay'in min ālā'ika rabbī ukadhdhibu' after every occurrence of the verse 'Fa bi ayyī ālā'ī rabbikumā tukadhdhibān.' This phrase is not confined to a specific time for reciting it, and it can be said whenever the Surah is recited after the mentioned verse to gain its reward and blessings.
✅ In some narrations from the book 'Kāmil al-Ziyārāt' and others, for the prayer of visiting Imam Husayn (peace be upon him) and Imam Ridha (peace be upon him), it is recommended to recite Surah Yā-Sīn after Surah al-Fātiḥah in the first rak'ah and Surah Ar-Rahmān after Surah al-Fātiḥah in the second rak'ah. Saying the above phrase after the mentioned verse applies to reciting this Surah in the ziyārah prayers or in any obligatory or optional prayer.
✅ Dear brothers and sisters! The negligence of Shia in praying for the hastening of the appearance (of the Imam) has led to the delay of the appearance until now! Let us abandon this negligence and pray with full determination for the hastening of the appearance:
