✅Answer: Please pay attention to the following narrations:

📚 Al-Kafi, vol. 3, p. 45

Jamil said: 'I asked Imam Sadiq, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, about what women do with their hair and braided hair.' The Imam said: 'This type of tying hair did not exist before! Indeed, women used to gather their hair (in four places), and then the Imam explained the four places. Then he said: 'Women should wash to the point of perfection (they should wash well)!'

📚 Al-Kafi, vol. 3, p. 45

Imam Sadiq, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: 'When a woman performs ghusl for major ritual impurity (janabah), she does not untie her hair (she does not need to untie her hair)!'

📚 Al-Kafi, vol. 3, p. 81

Abdullah ibn Yahya al-Kahili said: 'I said to Imam Sadiq, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him: 'Nowadays, women have invented a new way of tying their hair. One of them goes to a hairdresser who makes hairpieces from wool and attaches them to her hair, and then she fills it with fragrant herbs and places a thin cloth over it and then sews it with large needles and places it on her head, and then she becomes in a state of major ritual impurity (junub).' The Imam said: 'The women of old (in the early days of Islam) used to gather their hair at the front of their heads, and when they wanted to perform ghusl, they would leave it in that state. Order that woman to pour water over her (tied) head and then squeeze it until it is saturated and the water reaches it. When it is saturated and watered, there is no problem for her!'

I said: 'What about a menstruating woman (who wants to perform ghusl)?' He said: 'She must completely untie her hair tied in this manner!'

📚 Al-Faqih, vol. 1, p. 100

Ammar asked Imam Sadiq, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, about a woman who wants to perform ghusl while her hair is tied with 'qaramel' (special ropes for hairdressing) and she has not untied her hair. He asked how much water is sufficient for her. The Imam said: 'Enough to saturate her hair, and that is three handfuls on her head, two handfuls on her right side, and two handfuls on her left side, and then she runs her hand over all of her body!'

📚 Ja'fariyyat, p. 22

Imam Baqir, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: 'The Commander of the Faithful, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, used to say: 'When a woman performs ghusl for major ritual impurity, there is no problem if she does not untie her hair. She pours three handfuls of water over it and then squeezes it (the hair)!'

📚 Al-Kafi, vol. 3, p. 82

Imam Baqir, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: 'For a menstruating woman (in ghusl), any amount of water's moisture that reaches her hair is sufficient!'

📚 Al-Tahdheeb, vol. 1, p. 135

Imam Sadiq, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: 'Whoever intentionally leaves out a single strand of hair in a state of major ritual impurity (and does not wash it), then that is in the fire!'

📚 Ja'fariyyat, p. 22

Imam Baqir, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: 'Hasan ibn Muhammad asked Jabir ibn Abdullah al-Ansari about the ghusl of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his family).' Jabir said: 'The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his family) would pour three handfuls of water on his head!' So Hasan ibn Muhammad said: 'As you see, my hair is long!' Jabir said: 'O Hasan! Do not say this! Indeed, the hair of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his family) was more and cleaner!'

📚 Al-Tahdheeb, vol. 1, p. 147

Imam Sadiq, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: 'Salma, the servant of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his family), narrated to me and said: 'The hair of the Prophet's women (peace be upon him and his family) was tied at the front of their heads, and as a result, a small amount of water was sufficient for them, but for today's women, it is appropriate for them to make the pouring of water complete (to be liberal in pouring water)!'

✅ Long hair is more common among women, and in the past and present, women have braided or gathered their hair in various styles for adornment and other reasons, and they tie and adorn it with artificial hair, special ropes, pins, clips, and special needles.

The question that has always been raised for them is whether this hair must be untied during ghusl and whether long hair must be washed during ghusl, or is it sufficient to get water to the scalp and body?

For example, in narration 2️⃣ and others, it is seen that it is not necessary to untie the hair for ghusl, and they can perform their ghusl without untying their hair. Some people have concluded from such narrations that it is not necessary to wash the hair during ghusl. However, in addition to the lack of explicit wording to support this understanding, we see in other narrations that the method of a woman performing ghusl without untying her hair is that she pours water on her tied hair and squeezes it so that the water reaches all of it. There is no mention of the lack of necessity to wash long hair in any narration, and narrations like the fifth one, while they can mean the size of one hair, their apparent meaning supports the necessity of washing all hair during ghusl for major ritual impurity.

However, according to narration 3️⃣, a menstruating woman must completely untie her hair during ghusl.

✅ The apparent meaning of the above narrations and others, and the lack of an explicit exception for washing hair in ghusl, along with the principle of caution, which was recommended by the Ahl al-Bayt, peace be upon them, necessitates that during ghusl for major ritual impurity and so on, all short and long hair of the body must be soaked and washed. Therefore, those who have used hair adornments that prevent water from reaching their natural hair, and it is not even possible to make the water reach the natural hair by pouring water on it and squeezing it, their ghusl is at risk, and they must remove these barriers so that water can reach all of their hair, and they should observe this precaution regarding their ghusl.

Also, refer to question 364.

✅ One of the motivations for desiring the appearance of our Master (Imam Mahdi) which was stated in the book 'Al-Kafi' vol. 1, p. 334 by Imam Sadiq, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, is that: 'The hearts that have fallen into disagreement will find affection.' To reach this important goal faster, let's say a lot:
