✅Answer: Please pay attention to the following narration:

1 عَلِیُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِیمَ عَنْ أَبِیهِ عَنِ النَّوْفَلِیِّ عَنِ السَّکُونِیِّ عَنْ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ مَا اسْتَخْلَفَ عَبْدٌ عَلَی أَهْلِهِ بِخِلَافَةٍ أَفْضَلَ مِنَ رَکْعَتَیْنِ یَرْکَعُهُمَا إِذَا أَرَادَ سَفَراً یَقُولُ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّی أَسْتَوْدِعُکَ نَفْسِی وَ أَهْلِی وَ مَالِی وَ دِینِی وَ دُنْیَایَ وَ آخِرَتِی وَ أَمَانَتِی وَ خَوَاتِیمَ عَمَلِی إِلَّا أَعْطَاهُ اللَّهُ مَا سَأَلَ.

📚 Al-Kafi, Vol. 3, p. 480

Imam Al-Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his family) said: 'When a servant intends to travel, he does not leave a better successor for his family than two rak'ahs of prayer that he performs.' And (after that prayer) he says:

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّی أَسْتَوْدِعُکَ نَفْسِی وَ أَهْلِی وَ مَالِی وَ دِینِی وَ دُنْیَایَ وَ آخِرَتِی وَ أَمَانَتِی وَ خَوَاتِیمَ عَمَلِی

And indeed, Allah grants him what he has asked for!

✅ It is observed that this prayer is performed as two regular rak'ahs when a person intends to travel, and the aforementioned supplication is recited after it.

✅ Also, pay attention to the following narration:

2 عَنْ عِدَّةٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ مَحْبُوبٍ عَنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ الْأَحْوَلِ عَنْ بُرَیْدِ بْنِ مُعَاوِیَةَ الْعِجْلِیِّ قَالَ: کَانَ أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ إِذَا أَرَادَ سَفَراً جَمَعَ عِیَالَهُ فِی بَیْتٍ ثُمَّ قَالَ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّی أَسْتَوْدِعُکَ الْغَدَاةَ نَفْسِی وَ مَالِی وَ أَهْلِی وَ وُلْدِیَ الشَّاهِدَ مِنَّا وَ الْغَائِبَ اللَّهُمَّ احْفَظْنَا وَ احْفَظْ عَلَیْنَا اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْنَا فِی جِوَارِکَ اللَّهُمَّ لَا تَسْلُبْنَا نِعْمَتَکَ وَ لَا تُغَیِّرْ مَا بِنَا مِنْ عَافِیَتِکَ وَ فَضْلِکَ.

Burayd ibn Mu'awiyah says: When Imam Al-Baqir (peace be upon him) intended to travel, he would gather his family in a room and then say:

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّی أَسْتَوْدِعُکَ الْغَدَاةَ نَفْسِی وَ مَالِی وَ أَهْلِی وَ وُلْدِیَ الشَّاهِدَ مِنَّا وَ الْغَائِبَ اللَّهُمَّ احْفَظْنَا وَ احْفَظْ عَلَیْنَا اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْنَا فِی جِوَارِکَ اللَّهُمَّ لَا تَسْلُبْنَا نِعْمَتَکَ وَ لَا تُغَیِّرْ مَا بِنَا مِنْ عَافِیَتِکَ وَ فَضْلِکَ.

اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَی مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

وَ عَجِّلْ لِوَلِیِّکَ الْفَرَجَ وَ الْعَافِیَةَ وَ النَّصْرَ
