Answer

✅ 'Istinja' means to remove 'najw,' which is feces. 'Istinja' refers to washing or removing feces from the anus.

✅ Please pay attention to the following narrations:

📚 Al-Tahdhib, vol. 1, p. 354

Layth al-Muradi said: 'I asked Imam Sadegh, peace be upon him, about performing Istinja with a bone, or droppings, or a piece of wood.' The Imam said: 'As for the bone and the dung, they are the food of the jinn, and that is one of the things they stipulated to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and he said: 'It is not proper to perform Istinja with any of these (meaning dung and bones)!'

📚 Al-Faqih, vol. 4, p. 6

Imam Sadegh, peace be upon him, narrated from his forefathers that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, in the narration of prohibitions, forbade a person from performing Istinja with dung and rotten bones!

📚 Al-Manaqib by Ibn Shahrashub, vol. 4, p. 11

Imam Mujtaba, peace be upon him, said in a narration about the etiquette of relieving oneself: '...Do not face the Qibla and do not turn your back to the Qibla, and do not purify (the place of feces) with food and a piece of meat (by which he meant a bone) and dung, and do not urinate in stagnant water!'

📚 Al-Faqih, vol. 1, p. 30

Shaykh Saduq said: 'The envoys of the jinn came to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and said: 'O Messenger of Allah! Give us a share!' So the Prophet gave them dung and bones (and designated them for them), and for this reason, it is not proper to perform Istinja with these two (i.e., the place of feces should not be purified with these two)!'

✅ In the above narrations and others, and without any specific or general conflicting evidence, it is observed that performing Istinja with a bone and dung is forbidden, and no permission has been received for it. Therefore, purifying the anus with animal dung and bones is prohibited and forbidden.

✅ Unfortunately, in some books that have been written for people to act upon! It is stated like this:

'There is no problem with purifying the anus with a bone and dung'!!!

But this statement is in complete contradiction with the above narrations and their likes and has no narrative basis. It must be said that:

'So woe to those who write the book with their own hands, then say, 'This is from Allah,' to exchange it for a small price. Woe to them for what their hands have written and woe to them for what they earn thereby!'

📚 Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 79
