Answer

✅Answer: Please pay attention to the following verses and narrations:

Indeed, the number of months with God, from the day He created the heavens and the earth, is twelve months in the Book of God; of these, four are sacred months. This is the firm religion, so do not wrong yourselves during them, and fight the polytheists collectively, just as they fight you collectively, and know that God is with the righteous.

📚 Surah At-Tawbah, verse 36

They ask you about fighting in the sacred month. Say: 'Fighting in it is a great sin, but preventing people from the way of God and disbelieving in Him, and preventing access to the Sacred Mosque, and expelling its people from it is a greater sin with God, and discord is greater than killing.'

📚 Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 217

📚 Al-Tahdhib, vol. 4, p. 161

Imam Baqir (prayers of God be upon him) narrated from his father, from Imam Ali (peace be upon him) in a hadith that the Messenger of God (prayers of God be upon him and his family) when his illness became severe, said: 'Every year has twelve months, four of which are sacred months.' Then he counted them with his hand and said: 'The month of Rajab by itself, and the months of Dhu al-Qa'dah, Dhu al-Hijjah, and Muharram consecutively (are the sacred months)!'

Abbad ibn Suhayb said: 'I said to Imam Sadiq (prayers of God be upon him): 'Inform me about Abu Dharr, is he more virtuous or are you, the Ahl al-Bayt?''

The Imam said: 'O son of Suhayb! How many months are in the year?' I said: 'Twelve months!' He said: 'How many of them are sacred months?' I said: 'Four!' He said: 'Is the month of Ramadan among them?' I said: 'No!' He said: 'Is the month of Ramadan more virtuous or the sacred months?' I said: 'The month of Ramadan!' He said: 'We, the Ahl al-Bayt, are like this too, no one can be compared to us!'

Zurarah said: 'I said to Imam Baqir (prayers of God be upon him): 'A person kills a man in a sacred month (what is his duty)?' He said: 'One and one-third of the blood money is on him, and he must fast for two consecutive sacred months and free a slave and feed 60 needy people...' '

Zurarah said: 'I asked Imam Baqir (prayers of God be upon him) about a man who accidentally kills a man in a sacred month.' He said: 'The blood money on him is increased (as mentioned in narration 3 and others), and it is his duty to free a slave or fast for two consecutive sacred months!'

📚 Amali al-Saduq, session 27

Imam Reza (prayers of God be upon him) said: 'Muharram was a month in which the people of ignorance considered fighting forbidden, but our blood was made permissible in this month, and our sanctity was violated in it, and our children and women were taken captive in it, and fire was set to our tents, and what was of our baggage and provisions was plundered, and no sanctity of the Messenger of God (prayers of God be upon him and his family) was respected regarding our affair!'

Indeed, the day of Hussein (prayers of God be upon him) wounded our eyelids (from the intensity of weeping) and caused our tears to flow and humbled our dear one in the land of Karb and Bala (grief and affliction) and bequeathed to us grief and affliction until the Day of Judgment!

So, let the weepers weep for someone like Hussein (peace be upon him), for weeping for him wipes away great sins!'

Then he said: 'When the month of Muharram would begin, my father would no longer be seen smiling, and sadness would overcome him until ten days of Muharram had passed. Then, when the tenth day arrived, that day was a day of his tragedy, sadness, and weeping, and he would say: 'This is the day on which Hussein (prayers of God be upon him) was killed!''

7 Ibrahim al-Makharqi said: 'I heard Imam Sadiq (prayers of God be upon him) say: 'Whoever takes a step to fulfill the need of his believing brother, seeking what is with God of reward, until he fulfills his need, God will write for him the reward of an accepted Hajj and Umrah and fasting and seclusion for two months of the sacred months in the Sacred Mosque!'

📚 Al-Kafi, vol. 2, p. 194

✅ From the above verses and narrations, it is clear that the sacred months are: the month of Rajab, the month of Dhu al-Qa'dah, the month of Dhu al-Hijjah, and the month of Muharram, in which fighting and combat are forbidden. Committing murder in them necessitates a heightened blood money of one and one-third of the regular blood money, and as expiation, one must fast for two consecutive sacred months. Although these four months are superior to other months, they are not comparable to the month of Ramadan, and the month of Ramadan is more virtuous than these four months.

Refraining from war and combat in the sacred months was customary even among the people of ignorance, but the evil Banu Umayyah (may God's curse be upon them) did not respect the sanctity of the Master of the youth of Paradise in this month and committed an unprecedented crime in a sacred month!

Although we were not there to answer the call of our Master Hussein (prayers of God be upon him): 'Is there any defender to defend the sanctuary of the Messenger of God?' we hope to soon answer the call:

which our Master Imam Mahdi (prayers of God be upon him) will make, and to reach this day as soon as possible, we say constantly and humbly:
