✅Answer: Please pay attention to the following narrations:

📚 Al-Kafi, vol. 3, p. 28

Imam al-Ridha (peace of God be upon him) said: God has made it an obligation for women in ablution for the obligatory prayer to begin with the inner part of their hands, and for men with the outer and top part of their hands!

📚 Al-Khisal, p. 585, hadith 12

Jabir says: I heard Imam al-Baqir (peace of God be upon him) saying: The call to prayer (adhan) and the call to stand for prayer (iqamah) and the Friday and congregational prayers are not upon women.... until he said: And a woman begins her ablution with the inner part of her forearm and a man with the outer and top part of his forearm.

And a woman does not wipe as men wipe. Rather, it is upon a woman to remove the headscarf from the place of wiping her head (which is the front of the head) for the Fajr and Maghrib prayers and wipe over it, and for the other prayers, she puts her finger inside and wipes over her head without removing the headscarf from her head!

📚 Al-Kafi, vol. 3, p. 30

Imam al-Baqir (peace of God be upon him) said: It is sufficient for a woman for wiping her head to wipe the front of her head for the length of three (closed) fingers and not to remove the headscarf from her head!

📚 Tahdhib, vol. 1, p. 77

Imam al-Sadiq (peace of God be upon him) said: A woman does not wipe over her head like men do. Indeed, a woman wipes her head in the morning and removes the headscarf from it, and when it is noon, 'Asr, Maghrib, and 'Isha, she wipes the hair of the forehead (the hair above the forehead)!

✅The rulings that have been stated by the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) include both men and women.

However, some rulings, based on their specifics or based on the difference that the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) themselves have placed between women and men in regard to them, become specific to women or men. The first case can be exemplified by the ruling of istibra' (a ritual act after urination) and the second case can be exemplified by the matter of our question.

It is worth mentioning that a significant portion of the differences between women and men in rulings is mentioned in a hadith in the book Khisal, chapter 19, hadith 2, and chapters 70 and above it, hadith 12. Those interested should refer to it.

✅However, two of the differences between women and men regarding ablution are stated in the above hadiths.

1 According to narrations 1 and 2, women begin washing their hands from the inner part of the forearm and men from the outer part!

The outer and top part of the forearm refers to the elbow, and the inner part of the forearm refers to the inner side of the hand, which is the opposite of the elbow. According to the narrations, women begin washing their hands from the inner part of the hand.

2 As for the second difference, it is a permission given to women for wiping the head. According to the above narrations, for the Fajr prayer or the Fajr and Maghrib prayers, according to the usual manner of wiping for men, they remove their headscarf from the place of wiping the head, which is the front of the head, and wipe over it normally.

However, for the Dhuhr, 'Asr, and 'Isha prayers, and according to the fourth narration even for the Maghrib prayer, a woman is given permission to put her fingers under her headscarf without removing it from her head and wipe the hair on the front of her head or the hair above her forehead for the length of three fingers.

✅It is worth mentioning that this manner of wiping, which is wiping without removing the head covering and by putting the fingers inside, has also been given permission for men in the hadith 📚 Al-Kafi, vol. 3, p. 30, hadith 3, for a man for whom it is difficult to remove his turban due to cold.
