✅ Answer: Please pay attention to the following narrations:
📚 Al-Kafi, Vol. 3, p. 160
Muhammad ibn Muslim said: 'I said to Imam Baqir or Imam Sadiq (peace be upon them both): 'A person closes the eyes of a corpse, is ghusl obligatory on him?' He said: 'If he touches him while the body of the corpse is still warm, no. But if he touches him after he has become cold, he must perform ghusl.'
I said: 'Does the one who washes him have to perform ghusl?' He said: 'Yes.'
📚 Al-Tahdhib, Vol. 1, p. 429
Ismail ibn Jabir said: 'I entered upon Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) when his son Ismail al-Akbar passed away, and the Imam began to kiss him while he was dead!'
I said: 'May I be sacrificed for you, is it not proper that a corpse should not be touched after he has passed away and that a person who touches him must perform ghusl?' He said: 'As for when he is warm, there is no problem, this is for when he becomes cold!'
📚 Al-Tahdhib, Vol. 1, p. 429
Asim said: 'I asked (Imam Sadiq, peace be upon him) about a corpse, if a person touches him, is there ghusl in that?' He said: 'If you touch his body when he has become cold, perform ghusl!'
📚 Al-Tahdhib, Vol. 1, p. 429
Muawiyah ibn Ammar said: 'I said to Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him): 'Is ghusl obligatory on the one who washes the dead?' He said: 'Yes.'
I said: 'What if he touches him while he is warm?' He said: 'There is no ghusl on him, so if he has become cold, ghusl is on him.'
I said: 'If he touches animals and birds and (a dead person), is ghusl on him?' He said: 'No, these are not like a human being!'
📚 Al-Kafi, Vol. 3, p. 160
Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: 'The one who washes the dead performs ghusl, and if a person kisses a dead person while he is still warm, there is no ghusl on him, but if he touches him or kisses him while he has become cold, ghusl is on him, and there is no problem in touching and kissing the corpse after he has been given ghusl!'
📚 Al-Tahdhib, Vol. 1, p. 429
Saffar said: 'I wrote to Imam Askari (peace be upon him): 'A person's hands or body touch the clothing connected to the skin of a dead person before he is given ghusl, is it obligatory for him to wash his hands and body?'
The Imam wrote: 'If your hand touches the corpse before the corpse is given ghusl, ghusl is obligatory on you.'
✅ From the above narrations and others, it is clear that touching and coming into contact with the body of a corpse before his body has become cold does not make ghusl obligatory, but if our body comes into contact with his body after the corpse has become cold, ghusl al-mass al-mayyit becomes obligatory.
For kissing and touching and coming into contact with the body of a corpse after he has been given ghusl, no ghusl has been made obligatory in the well-known and practiced narrations of the Shi'a.
