Question 742: Can the reward for a recommended act be gifted to the deceased after it's performed, or must we have the intention beforehand?

Answer
✅Answer:
1️⃣ Abu Abdullah said: 'Indeed, prayer, fasting, charity, Hajj, Umrah, and every righteous deed benefits the deceased, to the point that a deceased person who is in difficulty will have it eased for him, and it will be said: 'This is because of the deed of your son so-and-so, or because of the deed of your religious brother so-and-so.'

Ishaq said: 'I asked Imam Kazim, peace be upon him, about a person who performs Hajj and then dedicates his Hajj and Umrah or a part of his circumambulation to one of his family members who is in another city and is absent from him. I asked if anything from his reward is reduced?' He said: 'No, it is for him and for that person as well, and he will have another reward for the 'silah' (maintaining ties)!'
I said: 'If that person is dead, does it reach him?' He said: 'Yes, to the point that if he is under Allah's wrath, he will be forgiven, or if he is in distress, it will be eased for him!'

Ali ibn Mughirah said: 'I said to Imam Kazim, peace be upon him: 'My father asked your grandfather about completing the Quran every night, and your grandfather said: 'Every night!'
My grandfather said: 'In the month of Ramadan?' Your father said: '(Yes) in the month of Ramadan.'
So my father said: 'OK! As much as I can!'
So my father used to complete the Quran 40 times in the month of Ramadan, and I also, after my father, sometimes complete it more and sometimes less, depending on my free time, work, energy, and laziness!
Then, when the day of Eid al-Fitr comes, I dedicate one completion for the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him and his family, and one completion for Ali, peace be upon him, and one completion for Fatimah, peace be upon her, and then for the rest of the Imams until I reach you, so since I have been following this routine, I also dedicate one completion for you. So what will I get for this?'
The Imam said: 'For you, because of this deed, it will be that you will be with them on the Day of Judgment!'
I said: 'Allahu Akbar!!, will this be for me?!'
The Imam said three times: 'Yes!'
