Question 83: Is there an instruction or reward for weeping over the suffering of the Shia and companions of Ahlul Bayt (AS)?

✅ Answer: In addition to general teachings that affirm and reward feeling sorrow and weeping over the hardships and tribulations of believers and Shia, consider the following specific hadith:

📚 Al-Amali by Sheikh Mufid, p. 150

Translation: Muhammad ibn Abi Amarah Kufi said: I heard Ja'far ibn Muhammad (AS) say, ‘Whoever sheds a tear for the blood that has been shed from us, the rights that have been usurped from us, or the honor and dignity that has been violated from us or any of our Shia, Allah Almighty will grant them a place in Paradise for one epoch (equivalent to eighty years of the hereafter).’

Note: There are numerous hadiths in *Wasa'il al-Shi'a* (Chapters 87 and 88 of the burial section) and in *Mustadrak al-Wasa'il*, Vol. 2, p. 459 (Chapters 74 and 75) that affirm not only the permissibility but also the recommendation of weeping over the death or martyrdom of a believer. Among them is the narration of Imam Sadiq (AS) weeping over the martyrdom of Zayd ibn Ali, as reported by Fudayl.
