Question 82: Does performing the Monday night prayer and reciting 50 units of prayer compensate for missed (Qadha) prayers?

✅Answer: According to authentic hadiths from the Ahlul Bayt (AS) in reliable books, missed prayers must be performed one by one, regardless of their quantity:

📚Al-Kafi, Vol. 3, p. 291

Translation: Imam Baqir (AS) said: ‘If you forget a prayer or perform it without ablution, and you have missed prayers to make up for, then start with the first missed prayer. Announce the call to prayer (Adhan) and the commencement call (Iqamah), then perform it. After that, perform the remaining missed prayers, each with an Iqamah.’

Explanation: This and similar narrations indicate that the only way to compensate for missed prayers, regardless of the reason, is to make them up (Qadha). On the other hand, some unreliable hadiths regarding the last Friday of Ramadan and Monday night prayers have been mentioned in certain books without authentic chains of narration or sources. Some people rely on these for making up missed prayers, but religious rulings cannot be derived from such dubious, unverified, contradictory, or unclear reports. People of hadith should not accept every narration they come across without knowledge. Instead, religious rulings must be derived from authentic narrations through proper jurisprudential understanding.
