Zurara said: I said to Imam Baqir (peace be upon him): 'Will you not tell me where you learned that the wiping is on a part of the head and a part of the two feet?' The Imam smiled and said: 'O Zurara, this was said by the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his family) and the Quran was revealed by Allah about it.'
Because Allah, the Exalted, says: 'So wash your faces,' and from this verse, we know that the face should be washed completely. Then He says: 'and your hands up to the elbows,' so He connected the hands up to the elbows, and we knew that the two hands should also be washed completely up to the elbows.

Ammar said: Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) was asked about a person whose nail is cut off, is it permissible to put gum (a type of adhesive) on it? The Imam said: 'No, and he should not put anything on it unless he is able to remove it during ablution, and he should not put anything on it that prevents water from reaching his body.'

Ali ibn Ja'far said: I asked Imam Kadhim (peace be upon him) about a woman who has a bracelet or an armlet on a part of her hand and she does not know whether water flows under it or not, what should she do when she performs ghusl and ablution? The Imam said: 'She should move it so that water flows under it, or she should take it off.'
And he was asked about a tight ring that she does not know if water flows under it or not, what should she do? He said: 'If she knows that water does not go under it, she must take it off during ablution.'
✅ Artificial nails, which are mostly attached to the nails for beautification, prevent water from reaching the natural nail during ablution and ghusl. Given the necessity of completely washing the hands during ablution and ghusl, there is no permission for attaching artificial nails unless they can be removed and reattached during every ghusl and ablution.
✅ It is clear that getting artificial nails is not fitting for a believing and religious person, as it causes a fundamental problem for their ablution, ghusl, and subsequently their prayers and fasting. And a person who, God forbid, has committed this sin is obligated to repent, make an immediate correction, and act with caution regarding the prayers and fasts that were performed with them.
