Answer
✅Answer: Please pay attention to the following narrations:
📚 Al-Tahdhib, vol. 4, p. 189
📚 Al-Faqih, vol. 2, p. 107
Muhammad ibn Muslim said: I heard Imam Baqir (peace be upon him) say: 'Whatever a fasting person does does not harm him, provided he avoids three things:
Eating and drinking
And (sexual intercourse) with women
And immersion (completely) in water'
✅ The forbidden actions during a state of fasting are mentioned in Shi'i narrations, but bathing and showering are not among them. Rather, in some cases, we are commanded to perform ghusl while fasting: 👇
📚 Al-Tahdhib, vol. 4, p. 320
The narrator said: I asked the Imam (peace be upon him) about a fasting person who has a wet dream. The Imam said: 'If he has a wet dream during the day in the month of Ramadan, he should not sleep until he performs ghusl!'
✅ However, attention should also be paid to the following narrations: 👇
📚 Al-Kafi, vol. 3, p. 43
Halabi said: I heard Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) say: 'If a ritually impure person (junub) immerses himself in water once, this action suffices for his ghusl!'
📚 Al-Kafi, vol. 3, p. 22
Sakuni said: I said to Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him): 'A person becomes ritually impure (junub), then he immerses himself in water once and comes out. Does this suffice for his ghusl?' He said: 'Yes!'
✅ In the narrations, two methods for ghusl are mentioned. In the two narrations above, ghusl by immersion (irtimasi) is mentioned, according to which a person enters the water completely with the intention of ghusl and comes out, and this action suffices for his ghusl.
✅ But since in ghusl by immersion the head is also submerged in water, this method of ghusl is not permissible while fasting, and the fasting person must perform ghusl in the sequential (tartibi) manner, because submerging the head in water is forbidden for a fasting person: 👇
📚 Al-Kafi, vol. 4, p. 106
Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: 'The fasting person enters the water but does not submerge his head in it!'
📚 Al-Tahdhib, vol. 4, p. 203
Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: 'The fasting person and the one in a state of ihram do not submerge their heads in water!'
✅ So what is forbidden for a fasting person is to put his head under water, and for this reason, performing ghusl by immersion is not permissible for him. However, performing ghusl in the sequential manner, showering, and the like is not a problem for him.
✅ According to narrations 5 and 6 and others, swimming in a way that the head is completely submerged in water is also forbidden for a fasting person.
