✅Answer: Please consider the following narration:
📚Tahdhib al-Ahkam, Vol. 2, p. 234
Hisham bin Hakam asked Imam Sadiq (AS): Inform me about what it is permissible to prostrate upon and what it is not permissible to prostrate upon. The Imam replied: Prostration is only permissible on the earth or something that grows from the earth, except for things that are consumed (eaten) or worn (as clothing).
📚Tahdhib, Vol. 2, p. 234
Explanation: According to this narration, prostration can be done on all parts of the earth such as soil, stones, and clods, as well as all plants that grow from the earth like trees and various plants, except for edible plants such as vegetables and fruits, as well as plants used for clothing such as cotton and linen.
✅Note: In narrations from the Ahlul Bayt (AS) in the book of Wasail al-Shi'a, prostration is prohibited on substances like tar, asphalt, glass, gold, silver, hair, wool, living beings, clothing, carpets, salt marshes, and snow in normal circumstances. In some cases, prostration on them is permitted in situations of necessity or precaution. Those interested should refer to the related narrations.
