✅Answer: Please pay attention to the following narrations:

📚 Thawab al-A'mal, p. 128

Imam Sadiq, peace be upon him, said: The one who recites the Quran by looking at the Quran benefits from his sight, and the punishment of his parents is alleviated, even if they were disbelievers!

The Imam said to me: Rather, look at the Quran and recite it, for that is better. Do you not know that looking at the Quran is an act of worship?!

In a hadith, Abu Dharr (may Allah have mercy on him) said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say:

Looking at Ali ibn Abi Talib (peace be upon him) is an act of worship,

And looking at one's parents with kindness and mercy is an act of worship,

And looking at the mushaf, which is the mushaf of the Quran, is an act of worship,

And looking at the Kaaba is an act of worship!

📚 Thawab al-A'mal, p. 93 and 92

✅The superiority of reciting the Quran by looking at the Quran over reciting it from memory is clear from the above narrations, even if the person has memorized the Quran.
