Al-Risalah al-Dhahabiyyah, p. 63 & 28

Bihar al-Anwar, vol. 62, p. 321

In the golden treatise attributed to Imam Reza, peace be upon him, it is stated: 'Persistence in eating eggs causes freckles, which are black spots on the face.' And he said: 'Eating a lot of eggs and persisting in eating them causes spleen disease and winds in the upper part of the stomach, and filling the stomach with boiled and cooked eggs causes shortness of breath and difficulty breathing.'

And he said: 'Beware of combining eggs and fish in your stomach at the same time, because whenever these two are combined inside a person, they produce gout, colic, hemorrhoids, and toothache.'

In the above narrations, it is observed that eating eggs from chickens whose meat is eaten is lawful, and no dislike for eating them has been narrated. In fact, a lot of eating of it has been considered beneficial for increasing children, and only in the narration of the golden treatise, daily persistence and addiction to it has been forbidden.

It should be noted that 'al-bayd' is not limited to domestic chicken eggs and includes the eggs of all birds, which, of course, are only lawful from birds with lawful meat.

Prohibition of eating eggs and fish together
