Question 44: In the Fajr prayer, I doubted whether I had prayed one rak'ah or two and assumed it was one. Is my prayer valid?
✅ Answer: Consider the following narration:
📚 Tahdhib, Vol. 2, p. 177
Translation: Rufa'ah said: I asked Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) about a man who is unsure whether he has prayed one rak'ah or two. The Imam replied: He must repeat the prayer.
✅ Explanation: This is a general principle applied to the first two rak'ahs of any obligatory prayer. If one doubts whether they have prayed one or two rak'ahs in the first two rak'ahs of an obligatory prayer, they must restart the prayer from the beginning.
