Question 493: In this time, when the ruler of the Holy Land is a disbelieving and oppressive ruler, is it permissible to go on Hajj and Umrah, which is like putting money in the pocket of the enemies of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them)?

Answer
✅Answer:
Please pay attention to the following narrations:
📚 Tafsir Al-Ayyashi, vol. 1, p. 192
[4]: Al Imran 3-97.
Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said about the verse 'And for God, upon the people, is the Hajj of the House for whoever can find a way to it' He said:
He who is healthy in body and his way is open and he has the necessary provisions and a mount, then he is able to perform the Hajj.
✅The Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) have stated in detail the conditions for those on whom Hajj and Umrah are obligatory in numerous hadiths. However, in no narration is the justice of the rulers of Mecca mentioned as a condition for the obligation of Hajj, and one cannot shirk the performance of the obligatory Hajj and Umrah based on personal opinion and interpretation. One cannot waste this divine obligation under the pretext of not helping the enemies of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them).
✅Also, pay attention to the following narration:
📚 Al-Tahdheeb, vol. 6, p. 44
Ishaq ibn Dawud said: A man came to Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) and said: I gathered all the dinars and dirhams I had and sold my land and properties and said: I will take up residence in the city of Mecca!
The Imam said: Do not do this because the people of Mecca openly disbelieve in God!
I said: Then in the sanctuary of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of God be upon him and his family) (i.e., Medina)?!
He said: These are worse than the people of Mecca!
I said: So where should I reside? He said: You must go to Iraq in the city of Kufa, for indeed its blessing is such and such in twelve miles around it, and next to it is a grave to which no afflicted or distressed person goes except that God grants him relief and ease.
✅Yes, the wickedness of the people of Mecca and Medina and their rulers is not new, and in the time of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) themselves, oppressive and unqualified rulers and people dominated them, but the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) always advised their followers to perform Hajj and Umrah, and they themselves continuously performed Hajj.
📚 Al-Kafi, vol. 4, p. 271
Sudair said: I mentioned the House of God to Imam Baqir (peace be upon him); the Imam said: If the people abandon it for only one year, they will no longer be given a respite (punishment will descend upon them)
📚 Ilal al-Shara'i, p. 522, no. 4
Abi Basir said: I heard Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) say: Know that if the people abandon the Hajj of this House, indeed punishment will descend upon them and they will not be given a respite.
📚 Al-Kafi, vol. 4, p. 270
Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: Ali (peace be upon him) used to say to his children: O my children! Look after the House of your Lord so that it does not become empty of you, for then you will no longer be given a respite!
✅Insha'Allah, let us be diligent in performing Hajj and Umrah.
