Question 41: I am in a place where about twenty beggars come daily asking for help. Since rejecting a beggar is discouraged, am I required to give to all of them?

✅پاسخ: عَنْهُ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عِیسَی عَنْ عَلِیِّ بْنِ أَبِی حَمْزَةَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ یَقُولُ فِی السُّؤَّالِ أَطْعِمُوا ثَلَاثَةً وَ إِنْ شِئْتُمْ أَنْ تَزْدَادُوا فَازْدَادُوا وَ إِلَّا فَقَدْ أَدَّیْتُمْ حَقَّ یومکم
📚 Wasa'il, Vol. 6, Chapter 23 on Charity
Ali ibn Abi Hamzah said: I heard Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) say regarding beggars: (Daily) give to three beggars, and if you wish to give more, you are free to do so. Otherwise, by giving to those three, you have fulfilled your obligation for the day.
