Answer

✅ Answer: Please pay attention to the following narrations:

📚 Al-Kafi, Vol. 6, p. 26

Translation: Imam Sadiq, peace be upon him, said: The Aqiqah for a girl and a boy is the same.

📚 Al-Kafi, Vol. 6, p. 26

Translation: Imam Sadiq, peace be upon him, said: The Aqiqah for a girl and a boy is a male sheep (or ram).

📚 Al-Kafi, Vol. 6, p. 26

Translation: Ibn Muskan said: I asked Imam Sadiq, peace be upon him, about the Aqiqah; the Imam said: The Aqiqah for a girl and a boy is a male sheep and a male sheep (it is the same).

✅ In most Shiite narrations, the Aqiqah for a girl and a boy has been made the same, and a male sheep and a male animal have been designated for it. However, Sheikh Saduq narrated the following narration in the book 'Man La Yahduruhu al-Faqih,' according to which a female animal is designated for a newborn girl and a male animal for a newborn boy, which can also be acted upon:

📚 Faqih, Vol. 3, p. 485

Translation: Imam Sadiq, peace be upon him, said in a hadith: If the newborn is a boy, a male (sheep, camel, or cow) is sacrificed for him, and if she is a girl, a female (sheep, cow, or camel) is sacrificed for her.
