✅ Answer: Please pay attention to the following hadiths:

📚 Al-Faqih, Vol. 1, p. 502

Imam al-Baqir (peace be upon him) said in a hadith: 'Sleeping is of four types: the sleep of the prophets, who sleep on their backs for the intimate supplication of revelation; the sleep of the believers, who sleep on their right side; the sleep of the disbelievers, who sleep on their left side; and the sleep of the devils, who sleep on their faces!'

📚 Uyun Akhbar al-Rida, Vol. 1, p. 246

In the narration of the Syrian man, it is mentioned that he asked the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him): 'In how many ways is sleep?' The Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him) replied: 'Sleep is of four types:

The prophets sleep on their backs, and their eyes do not sleep, awaiting the revelation of Allah, the Mighty and Sublime!

The believer: sleeps on his right hand, facing the Qiblah!

Kings and their children sleep on their left hand so that what they eat may be wholesome and digested!

And Iblis (Satan), his brothers, and every insane or afflicted person sleep face down on their faces!'

📚 Al-Khisal, p. 631

The Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him) said in the Hadith of the Four Hundred: 'A person must not sleep on his face, and whomever you see sleeping on his face, wake him up (make him aware)!'

📚 Al-Khisal, p. 636

The Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him) said: 'When one of you intends to sleep, he should place his right hand under his right cheek, for he does not know whether he will wake up from his sleep or not!'

✅ In the above hadiths and others, it is observed that the recommended way of sleeping for a believer is to sleep on their right hand facing the Qiblah, whereas sleeping prone and on the face and stomach is severely condemned and is the way of sleeping of Iblis and the devils.

Sleeping upside down and on the face and stomach belongs specifically to the brothers of Iblis, insane individuals, and those suffering from a spiritual or psychological ailment; this is so important that the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him) commands that if you see someone sleeping prone, you should wake them up!

Therefore, it is necessary to prevent ourselves and those around us from sleeping upside down and on the face, lest it becomes a habit.

✅ Please also read the following hadith and pray for the acceleration of the Faraj (reappearance):

5 Ahmad ibn Ishaq said in a hadith: I said to Imam Hasan al-Askari (peace be upon him): 'I am grieved by something that affects me personally, and I had intended to ask your father about it but did not get the chance.' The Imam said: 'O Ahmad, what is it?' I said: 'O my master, it has been narrated to us from your ancestors that the sleep of prophets is on their backs, the sleep of believers is on their right hand, the sleep of hypocrites is on their left hand, and the sleep of devils is on their faces.' The Imam said: 'Yes, it is so.' I said: 'O my master, indeed I strive to sleep on my right hand, but it is not possible for me, and I cannot fall asleep on my right hand.' The Imam remained silent for a while, then said: 'O Ahmad, come close to me.' I came close to him. He said: 'Put your hand under your clothes.' So I did. He then extended his hands under his clothes and inserted them under my clothes; he rubbed his right hand over my left side and his left hand over my right side three times. Ahmad said: Since the Imam did that to me, I cannot sleep on my left side, and I cannot fall asleep on my left side at all.
